Progress Report

And it felt so good. My fingers flew across the keyboard, and the words poured onto the page. One of the scenes I finished today turned out completely different from what I had written in the first draft, but I love it so much more now!
I was debating scrapping the scene entirely before. Still, now, it's entertaining and sets up an essential future thread through the book's first half, stemming from your standing with Cynthia.
I divided this next update into 6 scenes — the page markers below!
I'm so close to finishing scene 1. I thought I would have finished today, but I got to 4k words, and honestly, my head is kind of dozy right now 😆 so I should probably rest.
I'm sorry for not making a Progress Report on Friday. Honestly, this last week was brutal. I couldn't write until Thursday, and I only had a proper writing session on the weekend. That's why I'm so behind (I wanted to be done with the second scene by now), but life has the habit of getting in the way.
But that's behind me, and tomorrow, I want to make as much progress as today! As of now, the update has 10k words, which isn't anything to scoff at. The goal for Friday is to finish scene 1, of course, and pass the halfway point of scene 2!!!
That's it! I just want to take a moment to thank you all for being here. Writing the Rose is a way for me to escape the real world and hide away in Romanus's shoes for a bit. It's therapeutic, and it's a privilege to come here on Patreon to share the process.
