2023-06-06 16:56:59 +0000 UTCMe! Me! Me! I have another question. Sorry Ana π but this has been on my mind since well I read the book. I've read it many a time. So it's beginning of the book ish when the trio first comes to the Lion Inn. They're bathed and clean and sitting around eating and drinking. Having a merry time. Or so Alessa and Romanus think. Hadrian on the other hand... He's been harboring some bad feelings as well. He's hurt and he finally tells Romanus and Alessa what is own his mind. I also wish that he wouldn't/people wouldn't call him stupid or a "himbo." He's not stupid at all. But my question is this: why did Alessa and Romanus leave Hadrian out of knowing about Raf following them? And how did Hadrian end up finding out ? I've read and re-read this scene and what lead up to it. But I'm still stumped as to why 2/3rds of the trio don't tell Hadrian their secret. I'm lost. Did I miss something? Like a little detail or something? Did I miss something big?. Idk.. it's just a question that popped up again as I'm playing the game again.

And also what made Hadrian and Alessa start to fall for MC? I mean they have it pretty bad for them. What affected them so profoundly? when you've started before that neither one of them has crushes very easily.

Or bird or something. So like let's say MC is running off mysteriously during the day and will be gone awhile but won't tell their partner. So RO gets curious/suspicious thinking maybe MC is cheating or something. So RO follows them one day. And they discover what Romanus is really upto π

Also second to a blooper reel/interlude in Billy's PoV...would love to see him scrutinize our actions/dress code/choice of ROs etc...

For the next book, will it be possible to get rid of Billy? Or at the very least ignore him by walking on foot everywhere? I know everyone likes the horse. And he is best boi and best boi I love so much. How would Hadrian react if a romanced MC planned a very special evening with him and surprised him with it? Like just doing things just the two of them. Doing some of his favorite things. Add Alessa in there too. Alessa best girl and also deserves all the love.

I'm sure the White Company has need of all manner of skills; not just strategists, logisticians, and intelligence officers, but cooks and stable hands, accountants and engineers, teachers and negotiators. What catches your interest as a service you'd enjoy mastering? @hadrian, if you had a captive audience ready to hear you out for as long as you were willing to talk, what theological position would you be most eager to discuss for hours and hours and hours? Doesn't have to be a heresy or a massive revelation, or even controversial (though it could be). Just a thing that's stuck with you and been snowballing in your head for years.

Related, just because I was re-reading the Temeraire books, something I always think is really interesting with established characters is seeing them from someone else's perspective - it helps with contextualizing them if you've been in their POV for a long time. Have you thought at all about doing anything like, I don't know, a (small) chapter from Billy's perspective?

2023-05-16 17:04:20 +0000 UTCI've been ready for this *_* I have two questions!: So far we've seen references regarding the origins in present time, but will any origin-based knowledge/skills be showcased too? I find the backgrounds so fascinating and I can only imagine what could carry over to Romanus from their upbringings. (ex: things like haggling, eye for quality/merchandise, traveling experience for merchant origin. Produce/Livestock knowledge, horticulture, and lettering for farmer origin, and obviously hunting/trapping, meat skinning, foraging, and weapon appraisal for hunter origin) Also, more of a scenario like question maybe, but what would a serious argument with the ROs be like? Obviously nothing relationship ending but more middle ground issues, as with our current two Ros we've seen some minor, somewhat lighter disagreements, but nothing I'd say would give insight of what some of the lows of a relationships w/ them would entail. (I'm nosy)

Potentially questions (I just haven't thought of it yet.And apologies for all the scenarios in advance π ) First scenario: Ok so this is a scenario for Hadrian that I just keep picturing in my head. It's super cute and super wholesome. My Romanus is petite so can be easily picked up. So the scenario I have in my head is Romanus (MC) is hiding somewhere. I pictured a field surrounded by trees or whatever. So like they're hiding behind a tree or something. And Hadrian can't find them. So Romanus thinking they're being sneaky runs and jumps on Hadrian's back and says "here I am." Or " I got you." Or something.. but Hadrian still somehow turns the tables on Romanus and then kisses their lips because they're pouting and "it's adorable." But that just makes Romanus more pouty. And Hadrian being Hadrian is smug about it. (I've thought about this scenario too much.) Second scenario: A clumsy Romanus. So I was thinking a romanced or non romanced Romanus ask Hadrian or Alessa to give Romanus a lesson in how to use their weapon. Just because. Maybe they're bored idk. But so like for Hadrian his sword and for Alessa her knives. (That is if they're not already trained in said weaponry.) But both Hadrian and Alessa are hesitant because not only is Romanus clumsy buuuuut it's their weapon. So I mean Hadrian and Alessa could say no, or they watch on with fear as Romanus attempts to swing Hadrian's sword or hit the right target with Alessa's knives. (Sorry I've had a lot of time thinking about these.) Third scenario: A romanced Romanus who is a bed hog. It can be all ROs or just Hadrian and Alessa. Doesn't matter to me. So say a Romanus who steals all the blankets on a cold night or sprawls out to all sides of the bed so there is very little space left. Or somehow someone gets kicked to the floor. How would the ROs react? 4th Scenario (almost done promise XD) : Billy. Cannot leave out Billy. So Romanus is trying to brush down and groom Billy. But Billy being Billy is being Billy. That's to say he's not having it. And Romanus has one of their many "talks" with Billy. And proceeds to get more irritated the more Billy protests. And Hadrian and Alessa are standing and watching the spectacle giving "helpful" suggestions and by helpful I mean the opposite of helpful suggestions. Which just makes Romanus more irritated and they say something like "piss off" or something Romanus like. And ofc on top of all this Hadrian and Alessa are very amused and Billy is still Billy. π 5th scenario: ( I'm sorry the scenarios keep coming XD) A romanced Lance, and we're going to do Chorica this time. So say a romanced Romanus comes around Lance often. And Chorica starts getting used to their company and starts favoring Romanus' company to Lance. (Mostly because Romanus gives her treats etc.).And Lance starts to get jealous because his lady is choosing someone else..(obviously it doesn't last because at the end of the day Chorica knows who she belongs to.) 6th scenario ( I'm sorry Ana π ) : The ROs discovering a hidden talent of Romanus. Such as drawing, singing, writing, etc. And Romanus getting embarrassed and tries to hide it. 7th scenario: Romanus buying a small gift for the ROs and the ROs being touched by the gesture. 8th scenario ( I promise last one! π ): A romanced Romanus using a cute pet name for their beloved in front of others. And the ROs are embarrassed or irritated or both. (Sorry for all the scenarios, I will be back with more questions π π but sorry.. I don't work, I don't school, I have a lot of time on my hands XD)
