2025-12-07 06:52:55 +0000 UTCI don't think being 18 in Japan means nearly as much as it does in other places. There's still the respect and hierarchy in the household. But, for her mother to go from "You must obey me fully" to "I'll let you do what you think is best" to even a small extent is massive in this case. She called her school basically useless before and now she's allowing her to stay there as long as she gets her grades up. That's a pretty good compromise.

2025-12-04 21:41:06 +0000 UTCI understand that Nick doesn't connect with Yuuki or the anime itself that much. His experience with SAO is way different than a lot of us. I started watching SAO when I was like 13 (2013), so the hype and investment I got from the series was huge (I even cosplayed kirito lmao). The anime industry was something else back then. And SAO in general isn't as good as other animes. Maybe it's just not his cup of tea. Either way, I respect his opinion.

Asuna is 18 in this episode
