Everyone and yoko knows one thing, kamina pretend to be a strong man in order to hide his weakness, when he first saw simon - a boy with absolute willpower, he decided to play the role of promoting the will deep inside simon, this also proves why simon has so much spiral energy unreasonably, even lordgenom was surprised, and anyone who watches gurren lagann knows that spiral energy is proportional to willpower, determination, and bravery - These qualities prove that Simon was a real man from birth, he just didn't know how to bring it out and Kamina helped him do it. Simon has never been overshadowed by kamina because simon is more than that (kamina and the author both admit this). Even after there was nothing left for him, after losing almost everything, Simon did not shed even a single tear. What a real man
