This is why Bleach was always regarded as great for it's time. The pacing definitely has an issue but the Manga avoids those I am pretty sure.

While he is good in slice of life, we would expect him to give it more screentime to have time to develop his characters, but nah, they are just the foundations of a great chara development done offscreen and suggested midfight. Yuji, Sukuna, Gojo, Yuta, Geto, Nobara, megumi, Hakari, Nanami, Toji, Maki etc are very well written for me). Actually, I will talk about my relationship with Bleach cuz it's not what u think. When I was young i heard about bleach and i really wanted to watch it cuz it seemed so cool (but I was confused, I didnt undeerstand what it was about and i didnt really watch it from the start). I watched AMV's and fights on youtube that made me more confused. Then I forgot about it untill it came back. I was already a huge Naruto and Fairy tail fan (familiar with DB, HxH 1999, Captain Tsubasa, City Hunter, Hokuto no Ken and Saint Seiya too in my early childhood) I became a huge One Piece fan and I watched and read a looot of manga since then (among them : HxH, Vinland Saga, Aot, Mha but more recently Oshi no Ko, Dandadan, Tokyo Revengers, Chainsawman, jjk, Heavenly Delusion, Ousama Ranking, Apothecary Diaries, Frieren, Mushoku Tensei, Evangelion that I discovered last year). I nearly forgot about Bleach's existence and it no longer appealed me; When it came back in anime I got interested and i hoped I could start it and be updated before the season starts, and the people I read on Twitter and even among my friends praise Bleach and this leads me to wonder each time why is it that popular. Each time they praise it for cool scenes, cool appearances, cool fights and I often read about bleach on the wiki. The lore doesn't seem solid to me; I don't understand the structures in the Soul Society, the Hueco Mundo, the time periods etc; while reading the wiki I was saying "why did the author decided that, it's not convincing". I'm sure that if I watch or read Bleach everything would be clearer to me but that was my impression. I also wached videos on the characters and the youtubers shed the light mostly on their abilities, bankai and stuff. I watched bankai rankings, captain rankings, espadas rankings etc. Moreover, on twitter, some dumbasses were comparing Bleach to Naruto saying that Ichigo is stronger, cooler, less crybaby, less pacifist etc etc which pissed me off and made me think "ok it's just a gigachad with no personnality". So in my mind, weak lore + praised for its fights = hype empty shell. All of this to say that no one influenced me on hating Bleach. Most of my bleach feed are people praising itt (but I feel like it's praised for bad reasons). Recently i watched analysis on Soul society and fullbring arcs which made me think they were good (even tho fullbring is usually hated, ichigo seems to have some development; And I love the concept of "chill" arcs that renew a story after a very ambitious one (for instance the elections just after the kimera ants, or in vinland saga even tho it's different)). I read threads about ichigo's writing and i started to believe that he was well written. Recently I've started to see X posts praising TBYW episodes on its storytelling (Ukitake episode for instance) and I started to believe that Bleach has appealing stuff in terms of narration. Also Nicholas praised it a lot. But when I watched this episode, I was deceived. It was corny and insipid, falsely hype. I thought it confirmed my initial assumptions about it being an empty shell. But ig it's not representative of the whole show, and I'm lacking the context to appreciate at least a little the character dynamics through the dialogues. I should obviously watch more to make my own opinion

I heard people are hating on her because of her annoying voice which nothing you can do about it cause thats up to the listener but she is an example of one of those characters that got butchered by the studio. A good progression, huge tension, well-written relationships between characters and moral dilemma, cool moments, a saint seiya vibe. etc. After this arc, what i've understood from the lore, characters, power dynamics, actions doesn't really make sense to me. i've been told that there were good chara development with Yhwach, Ichigo, Ulqiorra, Rukia and others (Zaraki also but I find his concept dumb) but it's mainly fights and matchups with no storytelling. It seems just cool and hype for the sake of being cool. Maybe I'll read the manga it would be better (i'm obviously lacking context to appreciate this). Speaking of these episodes, I don't really mind the bad animation (even tho Naruto and op have always had stellar animation for their time period in great moments) but the dialogues seem dumb and corny (especially when Aisen speaks) and it's very predictable. We can't locate all of the protagonists in the space. It seems like they are shut down until the writer decides they are useful for a 3 second scene. We can't read the battle and read their moves. Why don't they use shikai or bankai (from what i understood, some of the people fighting here will be revealed as waaay stronger during TBYW while they don't matter here), Why does the writer expect us to understand that it's normal that aisen would be shocked when he gets a surprise attack while he knows how many people he is fighting from the start and he was focusing on a portion of them). The attacks are really basic. The action is redundant. There is no intensity and impact, just an Aisen's show off which is too repetitive. I couldn't feel any enthusiasm. Tho the last scene is very good; very impactful, a good scenery and FINALLY some intensity.

It let a record on History and as someone going through an anime journey it's interesting to see Bleach (same goes for DB, Saint Seiya, City Hunter, Evangelion etc, these are very importants obras. Also I genuinely like a lot all of the ones mentioned, except for Bleach of course). What I want to understand is the hype for bleach. For example there was a huge expectancy for these two episodes and I found them so bad, I can't understand why would people have enthusiastic reactions for bad and empty storytelling. But I'm not complaining about Nich's video or smthg, I just wanna understand what makes Bleach that praised and popular. Try to defend your manga and tell what makes Bleach a good story for you.

There are indeed appealing things, like during soul society arc which seems genuinely good, or the anime TBYW which seems to add interesting stuff, but overall the plot seems weak to me. Even if we compare to anime from the same era it's bad, just "cool" moments over cool moments but no deepness. The lore seem dumb and inconsistent. Ofc we can agree that Bleach has qualities and I understand that it can be enjoyed (even me if I watch it seriously I could enjoy it as an entertaining). But I can never understand how people can say it's peak or rank it among their best mangas. This is definition of mid to me (but even mid can be enjoyable)

Except for the last scene (from the moment we noticed the switch), it's very bad episodes. Bad pacing, bad choregraphy, dumb dialogues, no tension, just cliche and repetitive action. Bleach seems mid to me. In early 2000 I can understand why it's compared to masterpieces as Naruto and One Piece, but now ? in 2024 ? (and this is supposed to represent Bleach prime).
