Haley’s pale cheeks turn a shade of red brighter than the flames burning in the ovens behind her. “I don’t know…I wouldn’t listen to that kind of thing.” Her eyes widen and dart about the bakery. “Not that I knew there was a thing happening.”
She clears her throat. “But if a thing had happened…I would have been thinking that I really hope [Name] is all right.”
