I looked over a 1000 shows and i looked also every season multiple shows in a weekly bases. And for some reason i knew all of it also. Maybe she really was afraid of the father but she truly loved her son. This is definitely one of the best mha backstories. I really don't hate any of the villains, only all for one. He's evil, while the others are severely traumatized (except Toga maybe, she's just messed up-).

AFO stumbled upon him and decided to grom him to get to All Might and so creepy revenge, because All Might fucked him up . Shimura Nana, left her kid to someone because AFO was getting close to her this putting her kid at risk , she then gave OFA to Toshinori Yagi and formed him into All Might, but then she faught AFO and was killed . Her Kid got messed up about heroes and became violent , witch triggered a really fcked quirk awakening in Tenko

2024-08-01 03:23:37 +0000 UTCTragedy- Nana, the 7th One For All user, was hunted down by All For One. Eventually her husband was killed, leading her to put Kotaro up for foster care. All Might and Gran Torino were not permitted to get into contact with him because of All Might being the 8th, and those close to him may also be targeted. Nana did this for her son to be safe and happy... even if she was killed by All For One soon after writing her final letter to him. Sadly Kotaro was left in the dark on exactly what happened there, and felt she abandoned him to further pursue her hero career. His hatred for heroes led to the abuse of who could've been his heroic children, Tenko and Hana. First Tenko's dad would tell him "no talking about heroes". Then he gets smacked for learning that his grandmother was a hero... finally when he kills Hana he must be thinking... "this isn't a villain attack, right now I must be the villain. I can never be a hero." From there the hatred for his current state took him back to the source... his father, his family's defense of his actions and the house that he built. No coincidence that the scratching happened when he was at home... The entire sequence was so heartbreaking to watch, especially his mother's hug attempt. The wonderful thing about this too is how the hints were always there. At the USJ he calls his face hand "Father" in a very mourning tone once All Might knocks it off, sounds like he could even cry on the spot. He outright remembers Kotaro's disembodied hand on the floor in front of him as he rants to Deku at the mall... VERY easy to overlook. Little thing but in that scene the hand appears on the floor inside his house because his memories are still suppressed, or "glitchy" as he called them. Then he calls the hand "Father" again at the bar after Bakugo blows it off. His hatred for the heroes, the bystander effect of the people at the mall as he was choking Deku was so reflective of how his family acted when he needed them most. This might be my favorite episode too, I loved seeing Tomura's memories fully return. Loved the reaction!

It really tugs at my heart when I watch the episodes that humanize these heroes and villains that seem larger than life when compared to the civilians in this world. It's why I love the story so much. Other animes do this to, but I think I connect with it more in MHA because backstories like abuse and bullying and family trauma are more realistic than some of the backstories in other animes so it hits me harder.

The quirks evolve as people grow up and because of that I dont think that this would be a common situation. And even when the kids start developing their powers further I dont think that ahything serious is gonna happen for most of the time since they live in a pretty developed superhuman society and I guess maiking your kids control their powers from very young age is something people just do, especially if this is something that goverments look over.

It being shown in its uncensored full detail here made it SO much darker and more impactful, I can’t even believe they show so close up shots of the literal chunks of his dog and Hana in a pool of blood it’s so unbelievably brutal for my hero

As he said a clone would disappear if it would take too much damage like a broken bone for example. The twice robots, broke both his arms and he didnt disappear, which made him sure of being the real one, and breaking the cycle. Also when he said he could have tried to kill himself, he meant he would have found out if he was the real one by that.

She basically admitted that Kotaro had been tough on his son and they had appeased to "his rules of the house", but laying a hand on him physically was too much. Even Kotaro himself admitted that he had gone too far and was remorseful. His dog was comforting him, his sister came to apologize, his mom and grandparents put Kotaro in his place and were on their way to check on Ten/comfort him, and his dad(as mentioned above) was remorseful and seemingly on his way to apologize as well. If Decay didn't activate at that exact moment, Tenko may not have turned into Shiggy. This little detail becomes much more important later on, but I won't spoil.

Which is why toga is like a crack fiend for blood? So when Shigaraki's quirk started to manifest, he developed a strong itch and the itch always got worse whenever he refused the urge to destroy/decay. So as his emotions boiled ovet about his family, he started to decay without him even realizing it thus killing his dog. So yea this arc explores the darkside of superhuman society. Who are there to save those who were extremely unlucky or just curse with a terrible power. The answer to that is almost never because one thing that was explore during the stain arc and before is how modern heroes aren't truly heroic and are only in it for the money and fame thus only are present in large cities where massive crimes to tend to happen to attain the spotlight. They didn't really walk amongst the streets trying to seek those who really needs saving. Thus these ppl feel abandoned as they continue to suffer thus becoming villains. The reason why shigaraki hate all might so much is because he played a major part in modern heroes losing their heroism. All Might made himself a God and took on everything by himself and removed all the responsibilities creating a false sense of security amongst the masses. All Might the man who can save anyone but not actually?? Now the civilians have it in their mind that saving isn't really there responsibility so they typically don't lend a helping hand to those that heroes might not see or be able to save.

I've never understood that though, it's one of my favorite arcs and clearly one of yours in MHA. (Also, we already knew about shigaraki's grandma being an OFA user)

His grandma being shimura nana was mentioned back in season 3 I think, but we don't really touch on it too much. She didn't want villains targeting her kid so she abandoned him.

CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT on all sides, and the truth behind Shigaraki and his evolution as a villain and as the successor to One for All. (Just as Deku evolves to his own standard of All Might, Shigaraki finds his own will to do more than All for One has... like he isn't doing this for him- he's doing it for himself and those who believe in his ideals)
