“I don’t even think I could list my favourite stuff about this world!” he exclaims as he rocks back in his chair with a smile. “The variety of things, for a start! Technology! Humans…in a totally interesting way, not in a humans-are-yummy kind of way.” He gives a wink.
Nat sighs and closes her eyes.
He begins to list more things, many of which we would consider mundane—cars, The Agency, schools, parks—until Mason interrupts.
“And what do you miss about the Echo World?”
Felix’s enthusiasm cracks for a split second, a streak of pain casting over his attractive features and making them pinch together.
It’s gone in a moment.
“Nothing,” he mumbles, casting his amber gaze to his lap. “Why would I miss anything about that place?”
Ava purses her lips as she moves to stand beside him.

One day they'll be able to answer a question without all their baggage dragging it down, hehe :D

Yeah, there's not really been a need for A to show their protectiveness, but it'll likely come up during the series too... :D
