That's how long it has been from the day I uploaded the first page on Furaffinity to the last page on Patreon.
It's hard to believe that I have been working on Captive for 5 whole years. I remember that I started drawing this comic one night after I'm done with some homework when I'm still studying in university, thinking that this is just gonna be a short 30 pages typical furry porn comic that I drew for fun. Ever since then I've gotten a full time job, live through 2 years of COVID, moved to new places, and gone through many ebb and flow of life. And all the while this comic and its characters grew alongside me.
As I click on the 'upload' button, I can't help but feel...melancholic to see Gervic and Vlagg's story come to a conclusion here. Despite them being fictional characters, it feels like I'm saying goodbye to a bunch of old friends. Even while I have plans to bring them back as cameo in future comics, it will probably be like having a reunion with old high school friends, you know? It just don't feel the same anymore.
Gervic, Vlagg, Herinn, Zudrec, Cobby, Bob, Jokann, these bunch of characters sure did came together to create an interesting 568 pages long story. Sure, there are a lot of things in this comic that I wish I can change for the better, be it to elaborate on a certain plot points (especially part 2), writing better dialogue (I know my english is kinda awkward, thanks to all who corrected my grammatical errors) or just improving on my art style in general. But seeing how this comic turns out, I think I wouldn't have it any other way, flaws and all.
What surprises me the most is not how much the characters had grown throughout the story, or how the plot line has changed as the story goes. It's the fact that there are so many of you readers that genuinely enjoyed my comic. Even now, I still can barely believe that my silly little comic somehow garnered a following, let alone managed to get support on Patreon and Kofi. I truly enjoy reading all your comments on my pages (yes, including the critics) and I really appreciate the feedbacks I get from you guys.
Much like my comic, this afterword has gone on for a lot longer than I intended. So from the bottom of my heart, I wish to say a heartfelt 'Thank You'. Thank you for reading my comic and an extra thank you to all those that supported me on Patreon and Kofi, and I wish y'all will enjoy my future works. Once again, thank you to all you readers.

Well, i have to say, i was reading your comics "the captive" on Hd Porn Comics site, and i have to say, i never felt so sad and happy at the same time, seeing just how cute vlagg have been to gervic, the part that was the most beatiful for me was when gervic jumped off a window and vlagg saved him and told him about the ups and downs of the life and gave emotional support, i never read any comics so beatiful and heartbreaking, good to see that in the end they're living together and far from the war Edit: my profile image is from 2011, i'm not a kid

2024-10-12 16:31:46 +0000 UTCI mean, context wise Vlagg did allow bob to be in charge of the castle, which means he performed horrific experiments on gervics crew where zaer is the only survivor . So even if Vlagg sees other wolves as teh enemy I feel like he should realise that the has some responsibiiity for what occured due to his absence ( he did apologise to gervic, but zaer is another person who was affected by all this even if it was in a different way ). Anyways, that’s all I’m gonna harp on this , it’s more a pet peeve than a massive turn off in the story

I was in really difficult scenarios with lasting impacts on me, and it's weird to say that I felt comforted by reading these comics. The way that you wrote it about the past coming back to him was similar to me. It feels good because my life is finally better. I feel so connected to him. Both of us moving on, and leaving the path behind us. Thank you so much for these comics. They really helped me through a lot!! A million thank yous!!

2024-10-11 21:30:04 +0000 UTCYes I think in my sequel I will make Vlagg the more "main" guy in the relationship. Yeah now that you point it out his motivation really isn't so clear. But the thing is Vlagg sees other wolves like Zaer as the enemy. As such I don't make Vlagg attempt to make peace with him. After all, Zaer did shot him in the leg.

Gervics been through so much rough stuff and vlagg feels..well he doesn't feel as flashed out . i think it would have added a lot more weight to his words if we saw what he sees in gervic . then there's the whole apologise to zaer, cus even if he wasn't there the things that happened to gervics crew as well as zaer are partly due to him. (at least how I see it) i do love the story , even if I didn't agree with all the choices. ill miss this series

It's always a mixed feeling of sadness to see the story end but also happiness from seeing the conclusion of such a long work. So many comics end unfinished due to lot of factors. It's a story that I loved following (especially chapter 3 part 1) whether for the story, but especially for its characters who are one of the strengths of this story, as well as their constant evolution, thank you for writing this great story with its quality and its small flaw, and thank you for these 5 years of work, I wish you good luck for your next story
