I wanted to share this example of a good latch because it is so important that you maintain a good latch throughout you’re breast-feeding journey. A good latch, ensures pain, free breast-feeding, and proper milk extraction for you and your baby.
A good latch is when both lips are turned upwards, an easy way to fix a shallow latch Is to gently insert clean finger and encourage the lip to turn upward and outward while feeding. It may take a few tries and you may accidentally break the suction a few times, but don’t give up! once you are able to master a good latch from your infant your breast feeding journey will get 1000 times easier!
