Our power went out for two nights here in Mexico and it was so hot and humid sweat beads were pouring down not only myself but my children as well. I found it more difficult as a Breastfeeding mother to do anything but lie down to nurse. Luckily before the power went out I had put a wet towel in the freezer and was able to use this to cool ourselves a bit. As you can see in the photos my face was very flushed from overheating. There was nothing I could do to cool down except lay in front of a breezy open window on the bed while my daughter drank her milk from mommy. Surprisingly she nursed a long time maybe due to being so warm. Milk flows better from the breast when the breast area is warm. Although I was not comfortable at all in the heat my children seem to take it well and my breast was able to feed my daughter a lot more milk than usual in the warmth. This is why mothers are told to nurse in warm water or use hot compresses to get the milk flowing.
