Breastfeeding blisters

If you’ll look closely at the nipple in the above pictures you will see a reddish black pinpoint on the center of the nipple. This is something that happens occasionally during a breastfeeding mothers journey. These milk blisters can be clear or clotted like a bruise under the skin giving it a red or black mole like appearance. This is entirely normal. My 2yr old has been more frequently breastfeeding the past few weeks due to a growth spurt and has caused significant irritation by her suction. Because we had been partially weaning but now back to fully breastfeeding on demand, the milk supply had dropped making her work at the breast longer and harder to increase milk production. The milk is flowing generously again but now the common problems we as breastfeeding moms experience have been resprouting. These types of blisters are normal and nothing to be worried about but please always consult your doctor if you’re concerned about anything! This is only my personal opinion and blog and I’m not a doctor. 💕💕💕
