Added 2021-06-21 19:07:31 +0000 UTCThe first picture is the way the nipple looks before a feeding if you notice the colors are matching the skin tone there is no redness or irritation and the nipple injury that I had has completely healed. If you’ll notice the second picture of the nipple after a feeding you will notice the redness and the white patch on the nipple which is from the milk being pulled through the nipple and a bit of red skin irritation from a Feeding session. Vasospasms don’t always happen right after a feeding sometimes it can take a few minutes to develop Vasospasm if you are prone to getting them. Second picture of the red and white tinted area around and on the nipple is common and normal and is nothing to worry about it’s just from the friction of the baby breast-feeding. Having sensitive skin I myself always have red irritated nipples after a feeding and am prone to painful vasospasms. I have noticed that I can alleviate the pain from a vasospasm by not restricting the nipple after a feeding. Letting the nipple area dry out and not be restricted by a tight fitting undergarment can help alleviate any pain caused by vasospasms. If the nipple is itchy or peeling in anyway this can be a sign of thrush and it’s always good to see your doctor in this case. Vasospasms can feel like a sharp shooting irritating pain and throbbing sensation until it clears up from the restriction of the blood vessels.
