Nap time is the best time to nuzzle up with the babies on the breast to release oxytocin and comfort babies into the sleep zone. This will allow for a much better sleep π€ and gives mommies the close personal time with the babies creating a lasting bond between mother and child. Be careful if you want to stay awake. Oxytocin also relaxes mommies and itβs easy to nod off with baby on the breast which can lead to tooth decay and suffocation (and evening an owie on the nipple from sharp baby teeth!) so be very aware of the airway of the baby! itβs recommended to always lay baby down in a safe place or crib on their back without any surrounding pillows or bumpers or toys etc. at least until 18 months of age. Iβm also in close proximity to my babies as they sleep and I always check their airways and breathing patterns. Zianna is now 14 month old so we still have 4 more months before I can safely allow her to sleep with blankets or pillows if I choose to nap with her. πππ
