Vote On The June 2021 What A Cartoon Movie!
Added 2021-05-01 13:00:06 +0000 UTC
Spring has sprung on the Talking Simpsons Network and it's a big one! We've got some big guests coming soon, some really cool podcast subjects are heading your way, and we're on track for another of our monthly $10 premium podcasts, so we'll need your help to decide what we'll be covering in June.
As you might know by now, we're staying so far ahead in podcast recordings that we've already recorded May's What A Cartoon Movie! (Cool World), meaning that in May we have enough extra time to record our June 2021 movie podcast, and we can start on that as soon as you choose the subject for us (and do we have a very fun expanded theme for you all this time)!
Just FYI: For those of you who are new to the Talking Simpsons Patreon, WELCOME. Also, you should know that once a month we release the What A Cartoon Movie! podcast, an extra-long discussion about an animated feature film, exclusively for our $10+ Patreon subscribers. And when we open up the voting for each month's subject, we want all the $5 subscribers to also have a chance to be heard too, so those subscribers can help pick episodes they might enjoy down the line!
Our next 2021 poll begins our new Summer of Disney Renaissance! For June (as well as July and August) we're going to let you choose our next film subjects from the formative years of Disney's renewed theatrical animation!
So here are the four early '90s Disney films you'll be voting on:
Beauty And The Beast (1991), the tale as old as time and a song as old as rhyme, it's the first animated film to be nominated for the Best Picture Oscar!
Hercules (1997), we will go the distance in the film all about Disney's commercialization of myths which also features a real bop of a Motown-influenced soundtrack!
The Lion King (1994), be prepared for shining new era with this animalistic play on Hamlet that changed Disney animation from there on out!
The Little Mermaid (1989), it's better down where it's wetter in the gorgeous film that rebirthed the Disney theatrical studio just as the '80s ended!
So please, make your choice known before the poll closes on the night of May 7! And thanks as always for your continued support of our podcasts—we couldn't keep doing all our super-deep movie podcasts without you!

Are we just into delighting in torturing Bob and Henry? (I voted for Lion King, so I don’t)

2021-05-07 20:10:03 +0000 UTCWhy are ya’ll voting for the worst of these four? I want to see these guys actually enjoy themselves for once!
2021-05-06 20:57:31 +0000 UTCAny of these would make a great podcast, but my preference is beauty and the beast. Also its high time you do a poll for the films of Satoshi Kon. He's such an interesting director and he had four movies so it works perfectly

2021-05-06 19:02:49 +0000 UTCThis is such a hard choice but I wanted B&tB covered for its 30th anniversary so I’m sad to see it in last place Hercules will do in a pinch tho

2021-05-04 13:48:14 +0000 UTCI'm going with Hercules because I want to excuse to watch it. The others are better movies but I've also seen them much more recently since they got the Walt Disney Platinum release treatment.

2021-05-03 21:01:09 +0000 UTCWatched Hercules along with the animated Mulan last year, they are practically Disney's animated super hero and action movies. Can't wait for the history segment.
