What A Cartoon! - The June 2020 Schedule

Summer is here and the Talking Simpsons Network is ready for it all. We may all be spending more time indoors, it's time for a bunch of new podcasts, and this month means five different What A Cartoons! Duckmen? Baby Muppets? Clownish girls? Winged Gundams? Jams in Space? It's a wild month!

Also, don't forget, if you're a $5 subscriber to the Patreon, you get to hear all these upcoming episodes a week ahead of time and ad-free, along with our collection of exclusive miniseries, which includes our current one, Talking Mission Hill! And $10 subscribers get all that AND our full-length What A Cartoon Movie! podcast at the end of each month! This month, we'll be looking at the incredibly successful commercial, Space Jam.

So, without further ado, here's the schedule for June:

Gundam Wing - "The Shooting Star She Saw" [Patreon Date: 6/1/20 - Free Feed Date 6/8/20]

We covered the first Gundam series already, so now we're going to cover the Gundam series that had the most success in North America, Gundam Wing! We'll be joined once more by Kat Bailey to cover the pretty boys of mecha AND how the series' debut on Toonami expanded the world of anime in the US!

The entire series is streaming on Hulu right now, in both dubbed and subbed!

Duckman - "Cock Tales For Four" [Patreon Date: 6/8/20 - Free Feed Date 6/15/20]

For the first time on What A Cartoon! podcast, we return to perhaps the most '90s cartoon ever, Duckman! We'll be covering one of the show's best from the third season, explaining why this show is worth returning to over 25 years later!

Sadly Duckman isn't streaming legally anywhere, but the DVDs of the complete series are very affordable right now.

Harley  Quinn - "'Til Death Do Us Part" [Patreon Date: 6/15/20 - Free Feed Date 6/22/20]

Chosen by one of our top Patreon supporters, we're watching the crown jewel of DC Universe, Harley Quinn! And it's way better than you might've expected, with clever jokes and a great voice cast. Learn how this adaptation of Harley stands out from the rest when we cover the debut episode!

The whole series is on the DC Universe streaming service or you can buy it streaming on Amazon as well.

Muppet Babies - "The Great Muppet Cartoon Show" [Patreon Date: 6/22/20 - Free Feed Date 6/29/20]

Just about any kid of the '80s will remember waking up on a Saturday morning to catch episodes of Muppet Babies, as the cute adventures of Kermit, Piggy, Gonzo, and the rest was appointment TV. Thanks in large part to its liberal use of film clips Muppet Babies has been lost to time, but we're going to rediscover the series in an episode all about the magic of animation!

Classic Muppet Babies may never be streaming legally anywhere, but the episode is available on YouTube right now.

An Extended Preview of June's What A Cartoon Movie! for Space Jam [Patreon Date: 6/29/20 - Free Feed Date 7/6/20]

We did a poll for movies we thought were going to be on HBO Max, but hey, it's still a great time to do Space Jam after we all watched the recent retrospective on Michael Jordan's career. It's time to talk all about how Bugs and Number 23 got together for this hit film. And at the end of the month, we'll share our lengthy preview AND the full podcast for our $10 subscribers!

Despite what we assumed, Space Jam isn't on HBO Max yet, but you can find it around on lots of places, including Amazon's streaming rentals.

We're looking forward to another fun month on the Talking Simpsons Network, so mark your calendars and prepare for a bunch of ultra-long podcasts as we shelter in place and while away the hours with podcasting!

Comments

I haven’t been this pumped about Muppet Babies since a Saturday morning in 1991! (If I got up in time for “Garfield and Friends” I knew it was going to be a good day, but if I got up in time for “Muppet Babies,” which came on right before, it was going to be a GREAT day.)

This is a cool lineup! A guy who goes by Renegade Cut actually did a great video on the Harley Quinn show earlier this year: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GC3Rjx1NVSY
