Added 2020-04-24 04:01:00 +0000 UTC
It's time to formally kick off our fifth limited miniseries on the Talking Simpsons Network—thanks so much for signing up to listen! This week, we explore the second episode of the series, where Andy finds himself in a father figure role as he joins the PTA in a desperate attempt to get laid. Meanwhile, Kevin and the Jolly Boys end up in an epic struggle via one of the first parodies of MMORPGs to ever exist on TV. Grab some Bugles and affordable malt liquor and get ready for us to fully explore Bill and Josh's animated take on the tail end of the go-go '90s!

Andy really is a big dirtbag in this episode in a way I'm glad "likeable" guy protagonists are written as much less these days. Given that I turn 24 in 9 days (as of this writing) and will thus be Andy's age, I'm glad to say I approach things much differently, and friends *would* call me out if I was approaching someone with sexual intent this way

I personally like all the offensive, un-PC stuff. That's how life is. I dont want my shows watered down with PC fluffy stuff that plays it safe, too scared of offending anybody. That would make a very boring show.

I should add, it's only fair because I roast them on their Japanese and French pronunciations.
I only know Pavement from my "Schoolhouse Rock Rocks!" album, wherein they covered "No More Kings." That's one of my fav covers on there, so maybe I should check out more of their stuff!
Another good example of a TV show featuring a computer game is when Second Life was showed off extensively on The Office.

My fav way of getting roasted now is thinking something is a great and clever joke only to have Bob and Henry declare it to be very "sweaty"

What I'm hearing from Bob is that Count Duckula is still on the table even if Danger Mouse isn't.

Deejays either have to produce or have a gimmick nowadays.

HBO did have a series called Autopsy in their pre-prestige days. It ran for 9 seasons; I only ever saw the commercials. Autopsy, Real Sex, and Taxicab Confessions were all sub series under the same America Undercover umbrella on HBO. HBO used to be pretty different.

American Dad is another show w/ an MMORPG B-Plot. Although, even that one had to somewhat explain the premise first.

When I worked at a eb games in high school, a friend of mine revealed his dark secret to me. "Do NOT let me buy the new Ultima expansion, seriously, put my picture up on the counter so nobody sells it to me!" A few people in our circle of friends told me he was basically gone for a year because of that game. Now it's 20+ years later and I'm the goober who played wow for 10 years and ffxi/xiv for probably close to 4 in total

George's computer issues in this still get me.
"Moms be using you again hasn't she?" is great, but when it starts, shutsdown and then the disk ejects and starts to burn is the best. Any computer nerd knows the frustration of something just not work.

I was more of a Star Wars Galaxies guy myself when it comes to early, misguided MMORPGs. But you don’t see that dumpster fire getting parodied too often.
