Progress Report 3/8/2024

Hello again, everyone! Here's what I got done this week:

Progress Report 3/1/2024

I... I did it! I got all the obstacles in! Here's what I got done this week:

  • Added falling trees that blocks the runners once it has fallen
  • Added centaurs that kick and stun nearby runners when the player gets too close
  • Added cervitaurs that get spooked when the player gets too close
  • Added cervitaur stampedes that push and stun runners; these spawn after a cervitaur gets spooked

Run From Me v0.2.2

Changelog:

  • Added 30 unique obstacle groups to the Grasslands, each group featuring a variety of obstacles
  • Added centaurs and cervitaurs to the Grasslands

Known Issues:

  • The ask prompts for the "Default All" and "Randomize All" buttons enable themselves if the gameplay part has been played played since disabling them
  • The NPCs do not currently avoid any of the Grasslands obstacles
  • The player and NPCs sometimes clip beneath obstacles ...

  • Adjusted the rock and boulder sprites to look a little better and pop more

  • Created prototype sprites for logs, ponds, and rivers

Game Jam: The Aftermath

Hah... Hahaha! I DID IT! I SURVIVED!!!

Ladies and gentlemen, I made a (more or less) complete game in two weeks! Sure, there were a lot of features that I had to scrap in order to submit on time, but overall the game is quite well-polished!

Game Jam Break!

Oh boy do I have a story for you! But first, here's what I got done this week:

  • Made a grass texture for the Grasslands background
  • Created five different rock sprites to serve as small obstacles
  • Created four different boulder sprites to serve as large obstacles

SHE HUNGERS

So... I was exporting the facial features into individual sprites, and I was so focused on enabling all of the layers that I'd failed to notice what was happening on the drawing side. When I looked back over, I saw THIS staring back at me!

 

Don't worry, though -- I'm fine! I only had to sacrifice my firstborn to her and now she's totally chill. :D
