Not sure if you check these, but you were confused by the Arnold terminator being good in this one; the terminators are machines/computers so there are many copies. Like my Dell computer is not the only Dell computer in existence and there are different models also. Some more advanced than others. Arnold is the older model, but even so, there were many terminators in the future, they'd only sent one back in time to 1984. Also, in the beginning of the movie, Sarah narrated that two terminators were sent from the future, one to 1984 to try to kill her before John was born and one later to try to kill John when he was a boy. She said that like the first time, another lone protector was sent back in time to help John, like one was sent to help her. She just didn't mention this time the protector was a terminator 'cause...you wouldn't have had that shocked face if she had. :-D
