Another big reason this is such a different feeling fight for Deandre is it's the first time he's not fighting at least one opponent he isn't allowed to kill. He wasn't allowed to kill Gaara though realistically I doubt most of these strats would have worked on him, and while he was allowed to kill Kakashi it wouldn't have exactly been easy for him plus he couldn't take Naruto out. That said he did almost kill both them and the entire Kazekage rescue squad when he pretended to suicide bomb the first time so idk what his plan was if Naruto had died in that explosion lmaooo.
