Hes a beast who's been stuck in the same island since birth, his village is boring not much to do fighting wise,had usopp grown up in a similar situation as nami when she was young usopp would've been a whole lot more confident and stronger.

This ep is what made me realize my problem with Usopp up to this point cause I knew this fight happened and why but Im only now seeing the buildup watching the reactions. Like I never disliked him, but something about him rubbed me the wrong way This amount of planning, dedication, aggression and intricacy in a fight and you do it against a close friend? Like you feel like you're lagging behind but wont step up or ask for training, they aint become monsters overnight. Talmbout going to an island of warriors but you scared to fight...unless its your homie that you're familiar with. Dude projecting himself towards the Merry like that but how come you aint tryna improve? Made me mad seeing him actually able to fight and hold his own, no lie, cause that means he has the potential, wont make use of it, but is vilifying the crew for his own failings.

Had the same expectations on the outcome the first time too, but man Usopp really worked for it. Usopp touched a bit on it last episode, but this whole fight is only really half about Merry. The other half is Usopp's insecurity. Merry is definitely one of the crew, she's just as inexperienced and green as everyone. The difference from her and the others is that she's wasn't made to sale the crazy grand line seas, and like Zoro said, ships can't get stronger. Outside of feeling connected with Merry because it's a gift from Kaya, Usopp relates to Merry more than the other monster crewmates because of their shared weakness. Usopp thinks that if Luffy is willing to leave a weak member behind here, it's only a matter of time before Luffy leaves him too. It's probably been a concern for a while, but it's been brought to the surface because of the shame he feels from him getting his face bashed in by the Franky Family. Sorry for the long comment, but this is one of those moments that hit different for me. Keep up the great reactions, I was dying when you guys saw the impact.
