I really love that factoid and it’s made me watch to eventually get to the live action Cherry Magic - YES! The end of 10Dance is SUCH a tease, though, YES! It’s made me want to dive into the manga for sure – at least this year, we can check out the 10Dance manga month to month in the meantime! But yes, the commissions are so good this month - I’m very fortunate to have support from people with such good taste! 😀 Viva la commissions!

The four main actors were FANTASTIC, especially with no prior dance experience for the most part! Aki and Fusako are really lovely throughout this and did such a great job and kept their partners in line when it was needed! I agree on the show demonstrating those relationship differences as well. The lighting and costuming and production quality was so gorgeous throughout! Themes of resistance!! We NEED to talk about them in 2026! For sure! The train make out session - I would have had a bag of popcorn behind the camera during all of it! XD AHAHAHA Put that “emcee out to pasture!” XD That’s great! And true! 😛The “physicality of resistance” is so well done! That’s a great point to bring up – and lots of resisting stereotypes - I’m curious if the manga will go into more detail with the series? We shall see! Thank goodness now I know who plays Kurosawa in the LA Cherry Magic! Hahaha! I definitely would love to get to the manga at some point! Alongside Live Action Cherry Magic of course! XD Thank you so much for the comment and kind words! Yeah, I usually have a method to my madness when organizing the commissions and it worked out for Shimoyama to start and end the year! These have been such great choices so far in the commission tier!

I really liked the Winter/Christmas setting we got in this movie as well, it was so pretty. The mains were wonderful, so happy you went to check what else they'd starred in and noticed Sugiki's actor also played Kurosawa in the Live Action of Cherry Magic! I knew it'd make you want to check it out, glad I was right, haha! That ending, though?! Talk about teasing us... just like how our two Shinyas teased each other all along the movie! Chances are slim but I'd love if we got a sequel movie at some point... even if it took like 5 years I'd be up for it. Maybe when the manga ends?! But it's been going on for a while so who knows :') Bless the commissions for giving you time to watch such great recommendations!

Especially in terms of creating the impression of truly talented professionals, who have spent their lives perfecting a specific style they love and are now needing (and wanting) to learn something different. Happy to see how much you clearly enjoyed Aki and Fusako, I adored them as well! 🥰 Loved their overall attitude of gently calling out their dance partners on their nonsense. I definitely ship them, as well! Also enjoyed how much the film managed to show of the different ways the dance partnerships go, how each relies on the other. Overall, adored the production quality of this, too, with all the beautiful extreme lighting and music and the costuming! Now… I had the opportunity to kill this bit, but I am not going to because it is now a personal challenge! 🤣 So... first themes of resistance for 2026?! 🤣 Aplenty. Most of all here I love the presentation of the physicality of resistance: in the Shinyas resisting each others’ style of dance in some way; maybe somewhat resisting the proximity and attraction each felt towards someone who so entirely embodies something they each feel is antithetical to how they view life, etc. Just in the way all of it is presented through physical acting and body language was so well done and interesting to watch. And I think there is also plenty to be said for the ideas of resisting stereotypes. The film doesn't dwell on this exactly, but there is a significant undercurrent of prejudice and racist + classist attitudes in the industry, specifically in terms of who (from what country) is seen to be able to be truly great and who is not. I wonder how much time they spent shooting the make out scene on the train. There were so many different angles and shots of it. 😆 That emcee at the end making the “commentary” during the showcase… needed to be put out to pasture. 🤣 Very happy to see you’ve enjoyed the film enough to want more. If you were to pick up the manga, I would definitely follow along if it became a series of reactions/extras/reviews/etc or anything like that. 🥰 I haven’t read it yet but would pick it up alongside those. Looks like Keita Machida is gonna be having a great year on the channel! 🥰 Thank you to Shimoyama for another amazing commission! 🥰 Love that Shimoyama’s commission ended 2025 and now has started off 2026 with a bang! 🥳 Cannot wait for the next entry! 💙
