Thank you so much for the comment!
I am all for seeing how these characters get more screentime and in other ways!
We shall see, eh? And Knives getting Tesla’s memories - I’m sure he’ll be perfectly well-adjusted when he “comes back.” 😀And yeah, if they are true, then Rem is a much more complicated character than the OG series, in this.
And yessss, that’s SUCH a good point - what is the memory of Tesla and what are the memories for Knives? I like the idea of the beauty mark maybe showing them related, too! We shall see, eh? Thanks again!

You make a good point in the beginning about this version showing more of characters that were rather one note in previous versions. I’ve only watched the 98 version, haven’t gotten around to the manga yet, but I feel like I know certain characters here much better than I did before.
The scene with the plants restoring knives and Knives seeming to get Tesla’s memories is very intriguing indeed! If those are straightforward memories then it does indeed make REM feel much more complicated and a bit creepy for replicating things so exactly with the twins. But I wonder if the merging with Knives also affected the memories themselves. Like, is that Tesla’s memory exactly? Or is that what the memory looks like after merging with Knives own memories? Time will tell I suppose.
Also, I think you noticed that Tesla has a mole/beauty mark very similar to the twins. Makes me wonder if that’s the plant version of a belly button 😆
Thanks so much for the video!

Thank you for the comment and kind words! I am having a blast seeing how this adaptation is taking from and going away from previous adaptations!
Wolfwood is such a grumpy bean this episode!
I will miss the long hair, but the OG hairstyle is iconic!
Legato being about as brutal as Maximum is hooooo boy!
I DO NOT expect Knives to be happy about his brethren being used to recreate him – maybe a “I’m a monster” moment? We shall see! And yesssss, that’s a great point about coercive control! I don’t imagine this making Knives MORE sane, if that’s the case! >.<
I’m excited for this next episode for sure!

Loved the reaction and discussion! Have to note again how much I love these discussions and spoiler corners as they are informed by so many interesting reinterpretations of the work. 🥰
Various things I loved:
Wolfwood being a grumpy bean and then also saying that after the delicious omurice they’re “all square.” 😆
The swoopy and lengthy reveal of Vash’s hairdo, just how very clearly the creators appreciate the importance of the hairstyle.
Yes! Watching reactions with Legato one day and Sugi the next is just such a great VA treat.
“Wolfwood is saying this to a 150-year-old space alien… let’s be for real.” 🤣
I liked their take on presenting Legato’s brutality, that was a horrific scene.
And agreed, I am so curious about how the narrative thread of Knives being “restored” via Plants will go (I do not expect it to go well 😅). I think this works well in concert with the elements of coercive and "reproductive" control presented back in Stampede with what Knives wanted to do to Vash and the other Plants. Also wondering how Knives being forced to re-live the memories of other Plants while in the process of being rebuilt will affect his state of mind.
Also, the way the 'reconstruction of an identity' is such a prominent theme so far: from Hoppered seeing Vash as a new Eriks; Hoppered wishing for and wanting to live a different life in practice; Vash being "Eriks" and now through multiple episodes slowly reclaiming the identity of "Vash the Stampede"; Knives being literally reconstructed but we have to wait to see how the figurative reconstruction of his identity and selfhood will go.
Looking forward to next week! ❤️
