Thank you for the comment! The wrestling connections and plant names are so fun! S2 definitely started with a bang! The animation was so spot on! Yessss, the gray hairs worked so well! Nagato and Anzai really got done dirty this episode, haha!! While it was fun to connect the two lackeys to FMA and Haikyuu, the misogynist man was just annoying – “he needs to go” indeed! And YES, Suo getting mad is…a look, for sure! I felt so bad for Nirei and how he felt in this match. 🙁 And Sakura losing “control” of the situation was rough to witness, agreed! But DANG, Kaji entering was so good! And Kusumiiii – love it! Umemiya in this type of situation would have been interesting, but yeah, I’m glad that we’re seeing Sakura has a lot of room to grow, still. Our boy is learning! Just…in some rough spaces!

2026-02-25 21:49:07 +0000 UTCThanks for the reaction! interesting to see all the wrestling references from ep 11 and yeah, lots of plant names! even that guy who gave anzai the nagato photo from keel had a plant-related name (Tochimoto for "Japanese horse chestnut"). Alright, s2 starts! and it throws you right into the thick of it😱 things are not going well... that "Nirei-kun!" was the most distraught I've heard Suo sound... meanwhile this is the most Sugi has spoken compared to the entire S1 😅 One big brawl with lots of fight animation! Random but I like it when hair shadows Sakura's eyes and when there's closeups to Sakura's eyes... the greyish tone sets the vibe in the setting but Sakura's golden eye really stands out victorian waif nagatoooo Rip anzai, down the stairs Here comes Komomedai and edward elric haha I can't unsee that now... that misogynist pissed me off so bad, so true that "he needs to just go" I didn't even notice the guy Suo faces has one eye kinda closed... Suo losing composure does make him more attractive... Nirei 😭😭 I feel so bad for him. He felt useless and a hindrance instead of a sense of belonging in this fight. Wanting to belong and do something for the rest of the group but unfortunately his body couldn't keep up with his mind... that shot of him on the ground is probably traumatic for Sakura 😭 KAJI RRRRREN with a cool ost has entered the scene! Enomoto and Kusumi reassuring Nirei awww Kusumi eye reveal! he is so sweet even without talking aloud. Meanwhile Kaji pure aura (literally) with the lollipop timer I like that he called the edward elric guy a nobody and also how his voice while talking with Sakura builds up from a calm tone to shouting at him then back to chill again. and Sakura is also hard on himself with that punch. lmfao "there was no time for info because it was just blood", no conversation here haha your impression of kaji vs umemiya is on point lol I like that Sakura still got room to grow. with Shishitoren and now with Keel, Sakura does have his own fights where he learns lessons, but it doesn't necessarily mean he is fighting the topmost of the food chain like what some other battle shonen might do for their main characters. I like the whole notion that "being a leader means taking care of those you lead, it does not mean to fight the boss" that Kaji teaches him

The character work in this is so good! Nirei getting hurt is something I would prefer to NEVER see again! And oooohhhhhh – I did not realize that was Yuuji’s VA! Oh wow! That’s WILD! I have to go re-listen, now! I love the idea of the BINGO card, but getting that first BINGO? It’s going to be DIFFICULT! But maybe we will this season! Thank you for the comment!

Honestly, Kaji's speech of how they are helping the first years because Furin protects the town, and that includes Furin itself is what I thought Sakura was going to tell Anzai when he asked why Sakura wanted to help him. Because, yeah, of course Furin would help their own as much as they love helping the town. I love how this shows does relationships so much. Seeing Nirei get hurt was so hard. Sakura's horror striken face is 100% accurate. I'm sorry, but the moment that we hear Keel's leader talk I couldn't not do a double take because the voice sounded so familiar, and yeah, he is Yuuji's VA from JJK... it's a bit weird to hear him been a bad guy here after he is such a sweetheart in JJk xD Doing the Bingo Card after the episode was a ton of fun. I can't wait to see when we get our first Bingo.

Kaji – the Chuuya of Wind Breaker – just not ginger! 😛 And yes, Sakura’s issues really come to light – he was making strides but got a bit ahead of himself! He really isn’t stable enough to take things on by himself – which luckily, he has a great support at Bofurin with his classmates. But yeah, our boy needs more experience! Yeahhh, just showing up without a plan was…well…a CHOICE. And we see how that went! I do appreciate that it shows realistic consequences in this episode as well – yes! And yes, having the MC not always fight the big bad (Choji vs. Umemiya) and (Kaji vs. KEEL leader) is really a great change of pace from the battle shonen formula. I enjoy it as well! The KEEL character designs are a lot of fun, especially the one that looks like Hoshiumi! 😛(That name was on the tip of my tongue the whole episode, haha!) – Kaji is also literally PIKACHU! I enjoy it too – and how Kaji shows being angry, aggressive, but also being RESPONSIBLE about it as well – I like that Kaji has found ways to cope as well with his issues – It’s great! The first years really jumped into the deep in and got quickly in too deep. Sakura definitely let being the “leader” get him to make a misjudgment at the start. And yes, our boy doesn’t have to do everything – I feel for him in this episode! I also felt for Nirei - this was just the worst match up space for him! And yes, he’s so relatable here – my heart went out to him! And Nirei and Suo shipping has begun! The vision is seen, hahaha! And KAJI – I just LOVE him so much, I didn’t expect him to have such a hold on me! I really love how Kaji was able to read Sakura – and YES – he needs a Dazai equivalent, indeed! But yes, Umemiya would be so proud! And honestly, I can totally see that about the VA’s from JJK – leaving one despairing shonen for this one that’s more…comforting, hahahaha!! I love imagining what’s going on in Sugi’s head, to be honest! 😀 Nirei broke my heart this episode! Our poor boy! And Kusumiiiii - that little animation could heal most illness! The screenshots I took from this episode - LET ME TELL YOU hahaha! I just imagine anyone that’s played football in anime at one point was in the Blue Lock program! 😛 Sakura sure is demanding, eh? I just need an edit where every KEEL extra is just seagull squawking in the background! XD But yeah, the best drip so far and yet they live next to a literal fish graveyard… And yes, Bofurin protects the Vibe of the Town, and I love it! 😀And the connection to Anzai and Sakura is wonderful! So happy we’re back with season 2 and it is a really intense start! 🥰 Various things I love: “I’m going home” your imagined Sugi side-comments just continue to send me every time 🤣 Nirei really trying 🥺 I don’t 'love' this, but when Nirei says: “I’m sorry, Sakura-san” 😭 That moment of Kusumi helping Nirei outside, I adore the tiny animation there so much The consistent focus on all of their expressions, there is loads to look at frame by frame “Did you get rejected from Blue Lock, too” – I laughed so hard when this came up in the episode as specifically pointing out that football isn’t an individual sport 😆 Sakura demanding the: “At least ten times!” 🤣 “Why are you worrying about Gucci if you’re in the fish pit?!” 🤣🤣 KEEL being seagulls is hilarious 🤣 I think most of all in the episode I love the presented idea of them protecting (among everything else) the ‘feelings’ which exist in the town. This works really well with the conversation Sakura had with Anzai in the season 1 finale. Cannot wait for next week! 🌸

We did in fact have to wait an entire year for season 2, but I'm an impatient person so I went straight to the manga which is only good until I catch up! Season 2 starts off strong with a fight right away but you can see how overwhelmed the first years got. They were way in over their heads, Sakura was too in his head about needing to beat up the leader so much that he was failing his own leadership. Sakura still has that mindset that he needs to do everything on his own which is fair, it's only been about a week since he even joined Furin and for characters like Sakura, change doesn't come overnight. With the others like Suo and Sugi, they do just fine with this type of environment but poor Nirei was also in over his head. Nirei has the right spirit though, and him trying and failing, being frustrated with himself, will only make him stronger in the long run. I love Nirei as a character because I think the average person who wants to help people in need can see themselves in him, he's brave and I respect him for it. This is also where I started shipping Nirei and Suo! The shipping continues! And in comes Kaji! We love Kaji, and despite him saying he's no one's big brother he sure acts like one! He said the things Sakura needed to hear and took over the burden like a good big brother does. Umemiya would be so proud! And yes! He does remind me of Chuuya, you're right! Small and angry but has a heart of gold. Now he just needs a Dazai equivalent. I also like to joke that WB is just a reunion for the voice actors of JJK since the voice actor for Yuji has now entered the WB scene as the KEEL leader. Thanks for the video! Can't wait to see more!

2026-01-30 19:59:37 +0000 UTCAND HERE COMES REEEEN KAJI! (am I going to comment this under every episode with Kaji? perhaps) "hes basically Chuuya" IM CRYING SO MUCH. HE IS!!!!!!!!! I never thought before about it but he really is the Chuuya of Windbreaker *crying emoji* Just less... you know. Less gingerhead. I like how this episode nicely shows up Sakura's problems with his current situation. Like dude was just not ready to be in any leadering position and has visible problems with taking responsibility on himself. He is Grade Capitan now when he clearly does not have any experience with people and from one side he is quite nonchalant like "I do not care THAT much" and the next moment he mentally crashes out after seeing one of his guy's knocked down, to the point when he can't win with a "nobody" like Kengo. Like he definitely needs more experience on this matter. Because, like, he really did not have any strategy coming there, he just came into KEEL opening the doors and starts open brawl. Without any scouting, intelligence, or just simple plan how to move and fight during brawl. Fighting on ENEMY'S territory that they do not know. When you think about it like it it seemed obvious that they will start losing - it's actually pretty realistic and it's something I like about WB. It's still CLEARLY a fiction, but at least tries about taking consequences of some things quite reallistic. It was similar to what I was talking about Shishitoren and them losing all 5 duels. It seemed like a bad writing but it was author's deliberate choice regarding in how bad state Shishitoren was. Same here - it's hard to go to war without literally ANY, even basic, strategy, because you, most likely, will start losing. You mentioned that Sakura does Not Have to fight the leader of the enemy's group, and it's the next thing I like about WB. In a lot (not always of course) battle shounens the main character is usually the one to "save the day", to fight the biggest threat, to fight the enemy's boss. And to this point of the story (I'm talking only about the WB to this episode) it's not much the case. It was Umemiya who took Choji and currently its Kaji who is going to fight the leader of KEEL and in both arc we have a talk WHY is that. And even if its NOT Sakura (our main character) it does not make the story less enjoyable or good. I really like that and wish that more shounens would use other characters too to take "the big bad of the arc". I really like the desing of the guy that looks like Hoshiumi. His design is really fun and nicely contrasts with Sugishita who he fights with. The next thing I love is like. There are no superpowers in this story but then you have Kaji being literally the electro type pokemon. I love how his "anger" is showed like sparks and electricity around him, because as a person who was dealing with anger issues when I was younger yeah, I DO can relate to that. Like when you feel THAT form of anger and agreesion that you can't hold and you loose your sight and control of yourself and your body moves on its own and wou WILL hit that its quite like that, like that sparks and electricity in you and around you. I do not miss this feeling at all. And this and this overpowering, drowning feeling of hating yourself to your own core. It seems like currently Kaji has his own ways to cope and work with his issues (I love the idea of headphones and lollipops) and its so nice to see!
