I LOVE Alice in Wonderland, so any reference to it, I'm instantly a fan of - and this OVA had that series mixed with a little bit of Labyrinth and a whole lot of Natsume's Book of Friends goodness! Bittersweet and all!
I loved meeting Tamami and following her and Natsume on this little adventure - it was a great way to round out Season 6 - I still can't believe we're here already!

Thank you so much for the comment and kind words! Ooh, YES, I can totally see the connection to Episode 6! Natsume out here being the sweetest bean and everyone else thinking he’s this mysterious omnipotent figure - which the concept of perspective (especially with yokai vs. exorcists) is worth noting in all this, so that’s a cool observation! The owl figuring out Reiko IMMEDIATELY was so good - I love that owl yokai. Giving off Jareth Labyrinth vibes all day! XD The concept of perception and who gets to do that is so good! I agree completely with you! I’m ready for the movie to have my heart squeezed in fan service glee, so I hope you all enjoy it along with me! :D Thanks again!

Another wonderful OVA! 🥰 Some of this OVA really reminds me of S6E6 – where we see Natsume mostly from the point of view of Nishimura and Kitamoto. And here we see Natsume from Tamami’s perspective as this mysterious, powerful and slightly odd figure. I always love this contrast with sweetest bean!Natsume. And love how the owl had Reiko figured out straight away. Also agree with the discussion around the amount of versatility now in terms of who has the ability to perceive/see/hear/etc what adds a lot. And I like that it has been done so gradually over a long time. We’ve also had examples of this ability changing over time. So many different ways for the show to manipulate our hearts. 😂 Cannot wait for next week! 💙
