WHAT A SEASON FINALE! I was a feral fangirl as we got things wrapped up quite nicely after the Stronghold battle; the fates of everyone have been revealed, we got to see a baby (yay), and more importantly -- our patience is rewarded with a FEAST OF JINMAO! *screams*
This season was so fantastic and after watching Apothecary Diaries week to week for a YEAR, the hiatus is going to be HARD -- but I am so excited for season 3 and you know I'll be there for it!

WHAT a finale, indeed! My JinMao heart was very full and satisfied by this episode! I think that’s a great point that Jinshi is free from having to keep himself in secret around MaoMao - he really struggled with that this season so I’m glad that burden is off of him, but hahaha…his kinky side coming out - let’s NOT forget that her biological dad is Lakan! 😛 I was happy with the kids’ storyline concluding the way that it did for sure! It all connected back in a really great way and I was pleased with that and with the possibilities that Ah-Duo and Suirei now being together has opening up - I feel Ah-Duo will be a MUCH better foster mom than Shenmei, no doubt! Ahahaha, the elephant in the room with Shisui…hoo boy, haha! I feel that the dance scene and everything is still really good, it’s just…not AS good to me if she’d died, but it is what it is and doesn’t diminish my love of the series as a whole. I agree, her selling the hairpin was a way to tell MaoMao she’s alive…I just could see it having been done in a different way more effectively, but I’m not the author, so what do I know! XD Her not telling MaoMao about the resurrection medicine because it wasn’t reliable DOES tie into that conjecture angle of it, so I could see that. That’s a very fair point, so I get your angle on that 100%. Thank you for the kind words and comment and moderating this series SO MUCH – ahh, it’s going to be really hard to not have Apothecary Diaries in my life week to week until season 3, but if the Stronghold has taught us anything, it’s that absence makes the heart grow fonder, eh?

But yeah, a more ambiguous Shisui ending may have been better, I agree -- although, give me kinky JinMao all day long! Thank you for the comment!

2025-07-17 14:21:23 +0000 UTCI feel for MaoMao that her friends are separated from her. I love that Xiolian was given the a chance to say goodbye because of the gift of learning given by Jinishi and MaoMao. I do wish Shisui ending was a little more ambiguous. I adore kinky JinMao.

2025-07-17 01:49:01 +0000 UTCWhat a finale Jinmao nation was well and alive and thriving this episode Jinshi is now free of the secrecy burden so he can be himself at least in front of MaoMao But beware Jinshi, you may be Ka Zuigetsu but her papa is a ruthless man.. just saying 😂😂😂 The kids surviving was a good conclusion especially with Suirei talking about it several times, discussing the recipe, the side effects , etc.. so I find it correct and fair that they represent innocence and their innocence has been reborn with them .. Now the elephant in the room, Shisui .. honestly I would have prefered if she. Stayed dead because it would have made her exit very impactful.. but nonetheless it was an impactful exit as Loulan and it doesn’t bother me that she is alive Imo Shisui selling the hairpin was her way to tell MaoMao’s she is alive . Loulan didn’t tell MaoMao about the resurrection medicine possibly because she wasn’t sure the resurrection medicine was a 100% reliable They pointed out many time that it’s under research and experimentation so imo Loulan didn’t want to give MaoMao a hope that will eventually lead to nothing in case the kids did in fact died. MaoMao d have felt guilty and blamed herself for not being good enough to help them , whereas this way she was better for her In my eyes Loulan protected MaoMao till the end !!! Thank you for a whole delicious year with your Apothecary reactions and discussions Now we ll wait for season 3 that it was confirmed 🩷
