I've been obsessed with birds for months. I originally planned to draw a Goose, and I spent some days for researching and sketching.
But then, all of a sudden, I had this idea to draw a thresher shark.
How should I say? In my head, someone suddenly knocked on the door, and when I opened it, there was a thresher shark. And that happens, I have no choice but to draw a fish. And it's very natural thing for me.
There are three types of thresher sharks, and the one I drew is the Pelagic thresher.
Because the thresher sharks that visited my mind were blue!
I had a GIF idea in mind, so I sketched it out briefly.
They whip their long tails to stun fish and then eat them.
It would be fun to make a GIF of one shark slapping another shark's cheek π
And the expressions on the Thresher sharks' faces are really funny.
Their big eyes make them look worried and cute. I tried to emphasize that when I was drawing the characters. Well, but I wanted to keep the atmosphere cheerful, so I didn't want to look too worried, just a little surprised!
If I make new animated shark GIFs, I'd like to add more than one Thresher shark.
I practiced the curve of a shark's tail by watching videos of they swimming.
This is a rough sketch and a cleaned up sketch.
I had a hard time deciding on the colors. All the colors looked good to me.
I decided on the black-and-white version after seeing it converted.
