1. Crabby Crab pin!

I've always thought that if I were to make another badge after the Shy Shrimp one, I'd want to make a Crabby Crab one.

Based on the voting results, I choose the screw pinback again this time.

Unlike shrimp pin, Crab pin is only one color type!

2. Design

Just Crabby crab / Knife version / And one with bubble

I was debating between these three.

If you've used GIFs, you probably already know the nature of this crab,

But without the knife or dialogue, I thought it would just look like a regular 'crab'.

So I added the knife and bubble.

Shy shrimp was made in various colors.

I have drawn shrimp in various colors for a long time.

But perhaps we are already too familiar with the red color of crabby crab. So I made it in only one color. Come to think of it, there was a time when I decided on the color of Crabby crab as poll at the very beginning.

Crabby crab was inspired by a real species : vampire crab(freshwater), and they have several color variations.

So... this crab could have been purple.

3. Connected to factory

It's made in the same Korean factory as last time.

I was a bit stressed out when I made badges overseas, so I didn't make pins for a while. Fortunately, I felt really comfortable when I made Shy shrimp last time. So I was able to make badges again :D

I send the images to the factory, they create a draft and send it to me, and I do a final review.

In the image I first sent, the gap between the "Work" speech bubble and the crab arm wasn't wide enough. If I went with that, have to add metal to the negative space. But I thought that looked unpretty.

So I modified the design by reducing the speech bubble and spreading the claws further apart.

4. Size

I prefer small-size badges, so I tried to make it the smallest.

The actual freshwater animals that are the motifs are also small in size.

The initial estimated size was " 1 x 0.6 inch (25 x 16 mm)".

But when I compared it to the Shy shrimp, I felt that it was too small.

Crabby crab feels similar to Shy shrimp or a little bigger.

So I modified it to "1.2 x 0.74 inch (30 x 19 mm)".

It's still small, but bigger than the Shy shrimp pin :D

5. Backing card

It's the same method as last time. Instead of using plastic, it's packed on a paper card.

Just like last time, we use recycled paper. (But the type of paper is a little different. It's a different recycled paper.)

The pin badges will be placed as follows~

We will be able to see the actual photos of a sample as soon as next week, or at the latest in about 10 days.
