[wip] Happy crows

I drew a crow based on the poll results : Animal Drawing and Popularity Poll 2

I was only familiar with some crows in my local area and a few others, but as always, the diversity of the animals was amazing and there were always more crow species than I thought. Due to the limited space on the canvas, I couldn't draw all the crows, so I chose crows that had some characteristics. Many crows look similar - the all-black crows we usually know - and they are often distinguished by their calls, location, or size.

I watched some videos while doing my research, and I found the crows tilting their heads especially cute, so I tried to capture that part as much as possible. And the furs covering their nostrils πŸ’•

These days, I enjoy drawing pictures with line drawings.. so I might draw another related doodle. I especially enjoyed watching the video of a crow stealing a spoon and the video of a crow catching a bug with a stick. I want to draw a lot of crows holding something on their mouth.

I had some trouble drawing the eyes.

Some crows have distinctive colored irises.

I thought white eyes might look a bit scary.

I asked my artist friends in the group chat for their opinions and decided.

In the last step, I changed the background color. From pink to blue.

Since crows have a negative image among the public, I wanted to express them in a cute and soft color. So I chose pastel pink. Hmm..still it would have been pretty even if it were pink. But blue looks easier on the eyes, so it was a good idea to change it like this.

Oh I've never seen that before, so I just looked it up and it's really cute! I wonder who is smarter, the crow or the octopus. I like the sky octopus and I really like the sea crow

Hehehe, thank you for liking it! I'm thinking of drawing the crow again, this time with a line drawing version 😁😁

I love this color scheme! Also they look so good both with line art and without, you're so talented!

I think everyone likes the videos of crows playfully sliding down snowy rooftops too πŸ˜† Corvids are often mentioned alongside octopuses because they are intelligent and use tools, so I like to call crows "sky octopuses" around people who love birds πŸ™πŸ€“ πŸ˜‚. Octopuses could be called "sea crows"
