The sketching stage took quite a while π I erased and redrawn the sketch more times than you can see in the WIP post. I struggled with the layout and finding the right length for the snake. As I continued to draw, I eventually found something I liked.

I changed one type of snake during the sketching stage... There was a green tree python, but it was changed to a Sunda white-lipped pit viper.

The actual blue snakes have more various blue colors. Some are closer to green, and some to gray or indigo. Also, the coral snake has a very vivid red color.
I would have used richer colors if this wasn't a New Year's drawing. However I wanted to emphasize 'blue' in this drawing, so I only used a few colors. Blue and purple give a mysterious and dreamy feeling.

The pattern of this snake is fascinating. Their pattern is more complex and beautiful, maybe I drew it too simply...π I feel why they have beauty in their names. While researching the material, the beauty of the snakes made me shed a few tears. All snakes should have beauty in their names.

Baron's racer's face issuper cute. It reminds me of Hognose.
I drew them with almost similar body types, but I love how the snakes actually have different face shapes, body thickness, and length.
I should draw more snakes. It could be the next drawing, or I could draw something else in the middle but I already have some rough sketches and the finished image comes to mind π It'll use a completely different color tone than this picture.
Thank you!
