Loved your philosophical breakdown! PS - not sure if y'all picked up on it - but the prison Jimmy is eventually sent to is the exact one he referenced during the negotiation - ("If I give you guys half a chance you'll throw me into GenPop at some hellhole. I visited a client once at ADX Montrose, the Alcatraz of the Rockies....nope. Thats a deal breaker.")

Just watched the episode! Was away on holiday last week - talk about timing :/ In E11 "Breaking Bad" we get to see the two big bad decisions that Jimmy makes in his life. The first is ignoring Mike's advice and pursuing Walt and the second is him, in his anger at the world, doubling down on his criminality. He's clearly annoyed at Kim (but probably more in a projection kind of way) for telling him to turn himself in, and he's angry at Walt for where is is right now and refuses to let this rich guy with cancer go - perhaps in his mind as a way to get back at Walt. That decision, plus the one in E12 where he then decided to linger longer than he should've out of cockiness or recklessness maybe, ends up being what ultimately seals his fate. That conversation with Kim is what made him bury his guilt further & go back to conning, whereas she actually decided to act upon her guilt. "When I knew him, he was [good]" is such an impactful line from Kim. She doesn't recognise Saul as Jimmy anymore. We can see he's still the same guy, he's just putting on a front & a show. Saul is a comfort blanket that prevents him from feeling the tragedies of his life. How good a circle is it that Jimmy finally gets found out by an elderly person after all he did for, and then against the elderly. I'm obsessed with the shot of him seeing his old commercials and the colour reflecting on his glasses. The finale. It was intended to be structured like A Christmas Carol. Jimmy was visited by three ghosts: Chuck (his past), Mike (his present) & Walt (his future). In all 3 he was confronted about life choices & regrets and in each he brushed them to the side, rejecting Chuck's heart-to-heart (set just before S1E1 as in that episode Jimmy has The Financial Times with him), ignoring Mike asking if he'd change anything and then coming up with a lousy regret with Walt. All finally culminating in him deciding that since Kim decided to be the better person and put herself on the line for the things they did, he should do the same. After all, if there's one motivation we could always rely on Jimmy to do something for, it's Kim. I agree that she could well still be sued, but Jimmy stated on the record under oath that she had nothing to do with it during his confession. For Cheryl Hamlin's sake, I do sort of hope that Kim doesn't just get fully away with it though. I don't quite think that living in Florida working with relatively mundane people for 6 years is sufficient punishment for tormenting a guy such that it results in his murder and leaving his legacy scarred... It's great that we got to see Marie again, and finally meet Blanca (Steve's wife) in the universe finale (The Gilliverse - though I think that name doesn't give Peter Gould enough credit. He's the one who lead the way for most of BCS. It would've been a different show had Vince primarily had the reins). We also saw SAC Ramey, Hank's boss in S5 & (no longer Assistant) DA Ericsen who only have 6 episodes each (plus a joint cameo in El Camino) between both shows! Bill Oakley himself is in 12. I do find it interesting that after Jimmy finally opens up and admits to his wrongdoings and reclaims his true name, he gets sentenced to prison where everyone there likes him for being Saul and so he's pushed back to being known as Saul again. Only Kim really still knows him as Jimmy. Bob Odenkirk does such a fantastic job. Even though he's clearly playing the same person, Jimmy, Saul & Gene carry themselves entirely differently. When he says "hi" to Kim, that's so clearly Jimmy's voice. The showiness of Saul's voice and the exasperation of Gene's isn't there anymore and we hear Jimmy's softness. I like that he shows that he was clearly proud of how he was still able to finagle the court down to 7 years, but accepts that it's time for him to stop running & confront his regrets, whether they be illegal or not. It has been a pleasure to be part of this journey alongside the two (now 3) of you. I joined just before the BB end and have very much enjoyed your reaction, commentary and humour throughout :) There's plenty of intriguing content surrounding both these shows and I highly recommend indulging yourself in it, and perhaps creating some yourself (other than reactions) as I certainly think you understand the show well enough to :)
