I'm just starting to watch this with you; actually only in the middle of your into, but I want to respond to the thing your wondering about re Howard's father before I forget.
Howard's father was talked about twice, at least twice, 2 that I remember. (1) When Kim was quitting HHM to start her own firm, Howard talked about how he wanted to do the same after passing his bar but his father insisted he joined the firm. "Put another H on the shingle," Howard said his father said, (2) When Chuck and Howard were arguing over Chuck's suing HHM after the insurance thing, Chuck said, "When I started with your father, he had a one room office! I built this thing!" (not exact quotes, but close.)
I believe both those assessments of Hamlin Sr. to be true. Anyway, now I will watch :)

I think Lalo would have killed her, and was ready to if he needed to.
But I think he wanted to avoid doing so as her dying suspiciously would've likely got back to Gus and hampered his plans.
It's quite funny that the two names you floated for JANE's character were Jessica and Emily because Jessica James is another character of Kirsten Ritter (Jane) and Emily is the name of the actor who played Andrea.
Yeah you picked up on how Kim pitched the idea of "I fight for you" and in Saul's later ads he says "that's why I fight for you, Albuquerque!"
The boxing match certainly is a funny, odd scene. It does show how Jimmy is a rule bender, with him feigning injury and stamping on Howard's foot.
I think the idea of it was that Howard sees that Jimmy has some vendetta against him and is channelling it in underhanded ways so I think he genuinely wanted to see if he could get Jimmy to get it out of his system and know that he's not just going to lie there and take it.
What Howard has underestimated is the fact that Jimmy isn't really the ringleader of what's going on, and he just sees it as a string of petty gimmicks by Jimmy, like before. He doesn't realise it's all part of a bigger plan started by Kim. :O
It's an incredibly thin link, but Gus had some sort of epiphany when serving the gentleman in his restaurant that lead him to become restless and eventually come up with a contingency plan inside the lab.
What lead him to that? He mentioned to the man the "signature spice curls" which we last saw him pitching to Madrigal who are financing the lab construction and are German themselves. Perhaps that made him think of the lab and that Lalo would be going after him via the lab, which is his attempt to break away from, and usurp the cartel (as we see in Breaking Bad) and that's why he went there!
