You'll have ten letters, and they make two words. I'm sure everyone in your fan community would love watching you do that - I know I would 🙂

The writers intentionally made those ten letters into a two-word statement. Fans figured it out even before season 3 began.

2024-09-07 06:29:39 +0000 UTCMichael McKean (Chuck) received a script footnote early on from Vince Gilligan (I believe) that he based much of his character off of, particularly his relationship with Jimmy: "Chuck made mom proud, but Jimmy made her laugh" I think that's incredible. I agree that if Jimmy weren't his brother, Chuck wouldn't have anything to do with him. He thinks he's a lowlife conman who gets away with it because he is able to charm everyone and make them like him. Whereas he is a genius, ruthlessly law-abiding, upper class gentleman with poor social skills. In last episode when Chuck confronts Kim he says "I understand you have great affection for my brother, a great many people do. But please, open your eyes here!" Chuck both despises his brotherly connection with Jimmy because of what he gets up to, and is simultaneously envious of Jimmy for his charisma, further driving his distain. But Chuck, whilst a prick, isn't an unsympathetic character and I'm glad you two quite clearly see that. And nor is Jimmy, a warm caring guy, an innocent hero character. I'm a massive fan of how they did the opening hospital scene in this episode. It holds for so long and really makes you sympathise with Chuck's pain that he's going through ultimately because of Jimmy's actions. And yeah they are quite a bit like Tom & Jerry haha. Chuck can be just as conniving as his lil bro it turns out. The apple doesn't fall far from the... other apple. The first letter of the episode titles from S2 are an anagram of an Easter Egg for what's to come: SCAGRBIFNK - let's see if you can unscramble it :D Sorry for the essay, looking forward to S3! :)
