Jesse was also kind of dumb this episode; he should ask himself how the people who tried to rob them would have known about some random dead-drop location and when to hit it. For now we can accept Gus's plan as summed up by Mike's quote "he's a hero now". Jess was nihilistic and despondent and now starts to again feel he is appreciated and can provide value.

Jesse is no longer spinning out of control, Mike is in control of Jesse, Skyler is in control of the car wash, Hank is now gaining control of the investigation and Gus is always in control. Walt, on the other hand is driving his car recklessly on the streets, and his ego has been bruised.
