Swan Girls Book 2 - A Walk in the Park

A Walk in the Park

Candace didn’t get too far before Coral called. Just an easy 200 miles in about half an hour of subsonic flight. The blonde stunner had spent her time doing graceful loop de loops in midair, performing faux ice skating moves, marveling at her flexibility, and simply floating there serenely, breathing the thin air deeply as if in meditation. She felt so good!

“It hasn’t even been an hour yet. What’s up, you want to go to a nightclub in Asia already? I’m not interested,” Candace answered.

“Ooh, that sounds fun! But actually, I had something serious to talk about. Are you flying? That wind is annoying!”

“Come on, you can hear me fine!”

“Candace! It sucks! Get down somewhere!”

“Fine, fine. Gimme a sec.”

She looked around below, her deep, sparkling blue eyes picking out an idle neighborhood near a park. Without any indication, she immediately fell out of the sky, going from zero to beyond terminal velocity in an instant. Then, she touched down in her sneakers and strolled out from the alley.

“Shoot,” Candace resumed the conversation.

“Corwin’s getting out of the hospital soon. He called me. W-what... what did you say to him, by the way?” Coral’s voice was uncertain.

“I was checking what happened to him. You were lucky you didn’t kill him.” Candace did not pull her punches. And this one stung more than her hugs.

“Yeah...” a remorseful Coral declined to make any snippy remarks. “So...”

“He wants to see you really badly. I can’t believe you didn’t visit him!”

“I got nervous! Honest! I watched from outside and I couldn’t bear it. I felt so guilty.”

“Okay, well, you have both his and my blessing.” Candace had been walking quickly through the unfamiliar city and had made her way to a fairly large park now. She sat on a bench and crossed her long legs.

“I was actually thinking about something else...”

It was so tempting to take a peek at Coral’s body language, yet it somehow felt like an invasion of privacy. Candace did it anyway, zooming her vision hundreds of miles through solid objects and homing in on the Connors estate. A quick scan found Coral lounging on the living room couch with an uncertain look on her face.

“Yeah?” Candace asked as she watched Coral tilting her head around and looking for... what?

“You remember when I asked you if you had anyone suck on your breasts? I... I lactated into a girl’s mouth at one of our nightclubs while I was fooling around.”

“What? No way! Coral, are you pregnant?!”

“Ew, gross! No!” Coral was still scanning, now looking into the sky. Candace finally realized—Coral was looking for her just as Candace was doing right now!

“I’m on the ground. Near a park bench,” she guided.

“Ah, thanks! Well, the girl was... wait hey! How did you know!? You’re looking at me right now, aren’t you! No fair! I’m just at home!”

“Left. No, my left. Keep going...”

“Aha! Found you!” Coral giggled as the two siblings stared at each other from hundreds of miles away.

“Oof! Hey!” a runner tripped over Candace’s sturdy ankles poking out too far onto the runway. “Sorry!” Candace mouthed as she tucked her sexy limbs back in.

“Anyway, she was sucking on my boobs, as they do. And I was feeling so good, and suddenly, I got this tingling feeling in my boob and I just started feeding her!”

“Okay...” Candace wasn’t sure she wanted to hear this.

“She got like... kinda powered up too. I was watching her dance afterward, and she was really moving like a super ultra athlete or something. She wasn’t even sweating. It was a little like being us, I guess.”

“Interesting.” Candace did want to hear about it now.

“I was thinking I could make it up to Matt, you know? I bet it would heal him up super quick! What do you think?”

Candace didn’t need to reply. She knew Coral could read her body language, and she was deep in thought.

“Were there any side effects?” Candace asked.

“Um... I told her to tease someone half to death, and she took it kinda literally? And she’s kinda obsessed with me too. She’s been blowing up my phone.”

“I think you better put a lid on that idea with Matt. Does Dad seem superhuman to you at all?”

“Nah,” Coral responded. “I’d know. It’s kind of easy to spot.”

“So if Mom didn’t do it to Dad, maybe there’s a reason.”

“Yeah. Maybe.”

“Go be nice to him. You’ve always strung that poor boy along.”

“Oh, I will for sure! I’m gonna make him come so much without breaking his body that he’ll feel like he’s been broken into a billion itty pieces!”

Candace hung up abruptly, but didn’t look away quickly enough before Coral gave her another tongue and made a goofy face at her.

That girl!

All of the weekend joggers were out having a run. Candace got up and walked on the slower side of the paved road, letting the runners pass on her left. She checked everyone out with her x-ray vision. She always allowed herself to look, but not touch. As long as looking didn’t lead to frying them to a crisp.

Her ears picked up the speeding heartbeats of anyone who got a glimpse of her. Some of the bolder ones tried to make a move on her, but she turned them down as usual.

Maybe Coral’s right, Candace thought to herself. I haven’t had an intimate relationship in four years... I can just take it slow now. For real, she looked at her bracelet.

“Hey babe, someone special give that to you?” Another runner passed by her, peeked at her profile over his shoulder, performed a double take, and quickly turned to face her and jog backward, slightly in front and off to her side.

“My mother.”

“That’s good, cuz then I can be your special someone, baby.” He winked at her.

“No thanks.” She never liked when they came on strong. Candace began to pick up her walking pace.

“Whoa, whoa! Chill, girl!” He reached out and grabbed her wrist. “I can keep up with ya. I have stamina you wouldn’t believe. I could do this forever, you know.”

Candace glared at him as he violated her personal space. She was careful not to overdo it lest she rip out his arm or dislocate his shoulder, but years of conservatism meant that she didn’t actually put enough strength into her yank to break his grip.

“I’m just trying to show you a good time,” he continued with the slimy proposal. “You’d be a dumb bitch to turn it down.”

That did it. Candace was going to give this guy a piece of her mind. Or a millionth-billionth of her strength.

“Hey! Dude, back off! Don’t harass my girl!” Someone with a camera came sprinting to her alleged rescue.

“A hot piece of ass like you, with this Jimmy Neutron?” her would-be suitor scoffed.

“He’s much more of a man than you are,” Candace leaned into it and spat.

The man with the camera reached Candace and the slimeball, huffing and puffing.

“Honey, are you okay? Is this man bothering you?” he acted.

“Not anymore,” Candace gave the guy a death glare.

“Get real. Come on, blondie. Let’s ditch this four-eyes and I’ll show you what a real... hey!”

Candace slipped her wrist out of his fingers and pinched his with only two of her own. With her left hand, she pushed on his shoulder and turned him around, pinning his arm against his back and putting unbearable pressure on his elbow the wrong way while her fingers bruised his delicate muscles and bones.

“Ow! Ow ow ow!” he choked as Candace overpowered him effortlessly and marched him forward.

“Leave us alone!” she ordered, giving him a helpful shove on the back.

He sprinted forward faster than he ever had, carried by the momentum of Candace’s gentle push. When he finally got control of himself, he turned to face the pair with an expression of pure rage... then thought better of it. He cradled his wrist and stuck his hands in his pockets, pretending as if nothing had happened while plotting his revenge.

“Wow. Hey,” her rescuer huffed and puffed. “I wouldn’t have... come over if... I knew you could do kung fu like that.”

“It’s okay. I appreciate it.”

“Well, I better get back... to my birds. I won’t try to creep on ya,” he continued to wheeze.

Candace looked at her chivalrous knight and made a snap decision. “You sure? Maybe try, just a little bit?”

He looked up at her face in utter shock. This unbelievably gorgeous maiden was hitting on him? He choked and sputtered.

“I’m waiting,” Candace flashed him a bright smile. Her full pink lips and gleaming teeth enchanted him. But she wasn’t as good at it as Coral was. She tried to tell herself she was just rusty. She hadn’t been a nun back in high school.

“Ah, uh... you’re beautiful like the swans I photo?” he tried. “Oh god, sorry! That was so bad. I’m really not good at this!”

Candace chuckled. “You photograph swans? That’s actually my last name.”

“You’re pulling my leg.” He caught his breath finally and stood up straight. But this girl was still a full three to four inches taller than him.

“Yup, really. Candace Connors-Swan,” she extended her hand.

“Tristan Brandt,” he accepted. “Wow, good grip there.” He winced from her little squeeze.

“Self defense training, I guess,” Candace quickly relented, worried that she’d really hurt him. God, she was terrible at this.

“I’ll say. You look so skinny like a supermodel, I never would’ve guessed.”

“Is that another line? It was kind of complimentary, I suppose,” Candace teased him.

“Oh man! Listen, if I haven’t blown it, you want to just come with me, Miss Connors-Swan? Maybe... I could take some photos of you here? Anything to keep me from talking. Nothing creepy, of course!” he added.

“I… Yes. Sounds good to me.”

The two moved deeper into the park where it became more wooded and less paved. A splashing, lazy stream flowed over plenty of smooth, slippery stones to serenade their walk.

“You wanna pose in front of this tree?” He pointed one out. It was in the middle of the road, splitting it into two branches. Its trunk was thick, and huge branches splayed out, all covered with brightly, autumn colored leaves.

“What do I do?” Candace marched forward and turned around.

“Whatever you want! I usually take pictures of nature, so I don’t really know what I’m doing either. But I’m pretty sure the subject of these photos couldn’t take a bad picture even if she tried.”

Candace smiled brightly at him. He gasped and quickly pointed his expensive looking camera at her.

She put on a bunch of goofy poses, totally out of her depth. But Tristan just continued to snap photos constantly while Candace moved.

“Try turning to the side, maybe. Yes!” he gulped, looking at her profile. This girl’s body was wild!

“Maybe reach for the branches too. Just play with the objects around you.”

The pair pranced around the area for a few minutes before finishing up. Candace leaned against the tree as he approached to show her the photos he’d taken.

“Most beautiful swan I’ve ever photographed,” he chuckled.

“Why, thank you sir.”

“Can I get your email? I’ll send you the photos after some color correction and editing,” he continued to flick through them.

Candace admired his handiwork. Aside from the uncertainty and awkward poses, she really looked natural and free flowing. His composition and spacing was interesting too, putting her at various positions and angles in the frame.

“Wow. I thought you said the subject would make the photo, but I think the photographer really shined here.”

“So... can we go out for a meal, sometime? This is the most amazing morning I’ve had in a while,” he blushed. “Maybe Koloko’s? It’s cliche, I know.”

“Yeah, for sure. Let me give you my number. What’s Koloko’s?”

“You don’t know? It’s like one of the few diners around here that everyone goes to.”

“Ah, no. I’m from Timber City.”

“Timber City!? That’s almost two hours from here!” he suddenly looked a lot more glum.

“Don’t worry about it. It’s an easy trip for me. I come here often,” Candace lied. “Tell you what. Why don’t you get some physical prints and I’ll come meet you again? You can show it to me at our next date.”

“I-I’d love to!” he gushed.

The pair walked back to the paved area of the park where they parted ways. As soon as she was alone again, she could hear the earlier creep approaching her from behind. Apparently he’d been following and spying.

Candace turned to face him, startling him with her sudden attention. He flinched and reconsidered his approach.

Without missing a beat, Candace puckered her lips and blew a tiny jet of air from the small gap. It slammed him in the ankle hard enough to kick his leg out from under him. A further puff pushed his body away from the paved road and onto the soft, grassy, wet field.

He screamed as he extended his arms out to cushion his fall. Once he’d been planted firmly in the mud, Candace spread her lips a little wider, smiling as she blew more his way. His entire body slid along the grass, covering him in filth as he sped along the dew-kissed lawn as fast as if he were skiing down a hill.

Finally, Candace relented, whistling to herself cheerfully as she made her way toward another empty alleyway so she could take off into the sky once more.

Maybe Coral was right. Maybe she deserved to have some fun too.
