What's next?
Added 2022-09-06 21:32:42 +0000 UTCHi again! I've been a bit busy answering to comments and fixing issues for the Compass Navigation Overhaul and Infinity UI releases.
I have several candidate ideas for my next mods and I want to know which one do you want first ;) Ordered from easier to harder to pull off:
- Option 1: Continuing with the work done with Infinity UI, make a mod to display enemy effects, also expanding and pretiffying what the mod Floating Damage does. Kinda like what the game Nioh does -> Ersh made public his intentions to make this for TrueHUD before me. My intent continues the same, adding cool features to the UI, trying to keep it not too overloaded. I have in mind a shout revamp system and a ease-of-detection meter widget, between others.
- Option 2: Expand the features of Animation Motion Revolution to add gravity control per animation, impulse forces and vertical translation to animations.
- Option 3: Fixing Skyrim player movement transitions. Like when you run past a cliff and the character is still running in the air for a moment. Also adding acceleration and animations to velocity changes on ground and in water.
- Option 4: Overhaul of the training system. Instead of paying and instant profit, you go through a little "quest" to prove your abilities. The goal would be to base the skill perk tree on having passed those trainings. Like requirements.
- Option 5: Eventually, I would also like to continue with the labour of the SkyUI team, by improving even more the UI of all menus.
So that's it. Which ones do you find interesting (you can vote several)? The one with more votes goes first, but eventually I would like to implement all of these ideas :D
Also, please comment if you have any other idea, I'll be glad to read it :)

Ok so option 3 wins by far! Followed by options 2 and 4. Don't worry, in the meantime I will be advancing in option 1 and option 5, as ideas come into mind :) Logically, expect that easier mods will come out before, but I will keep the work priority according what you voted.

2022-09-08 11:33:21 +0000 UTCUI mods can change the game experience completely, I would like to put my vision of how things should work, and with your inputs guys, make the most awesome UI Skyrim could have ^^

2022-09-07 17:15:12 +0000 UTCI know a lot of Patreon subscribers are obsessed with character animation, but I'd love it if you can continue with your UI mods and their related framework, alex. I think it's your forte alongside with AMR. I'd love Option 1 and 5 with configurable options as always. :)

2022-09-07 15:57:00 +0000 UTCIt is possible yeah. You are welcome and I hope that you enjoy my ideas! :)

2022-09-07 10:00:30 +0000 UTCIf you ever go the UI way again, do you think it would be possible to replace the inventory/spell menu by a grid ? (like in Morrowind or TW3) Anyway, all these choices sound great and I can't wait for your next release. Thanks for your work !

2022-09-07 09:34:42 +0000 UTCRaytracing the trajectory of the jump and with a confidence margin that you will fall in water, yeah

2022-09-07 08:15:33 +0000 UTCYep totally agree with that!

2022-09-07 08:14:29 +0000 UTCIs there a way to add falling animation conditions depending on the character's distance from the ground/water? So if the character is elevated it's an arms out kinda fall, if they're over water it's a dive, if they aren't elevated it's just a jump, etc

2022-09-07 08:10:49 +0000 UTCI would also decide for 2,since it also makes animators able to integrate this into their animations. The sooner the framework gets those functions, the sooner other modders can pump out awesome content as well

2022-09-07 06:32:27 +0000 UTCNvm I talked with Ersh and as he made his intentions public first he will do the floating numbers Nioh thingy.

2022-09-07 05:55:39 +0000 UTCOh neat! Haven't tried Nioh yet! I'm sure whatever you decide to make will be a total banger lol

2022-09-06 23:24:03 +0000 UTCI would have to take a look, I could not say, but interesting.

2022-09-06 22:43:33 +0000 UTCOh that's cool! But those are the stats of the enemy, in Nioh what it's shown is the effects applied

2022-09-06 22:42:46 +0000 UTCI believe Ersh was working on floating damage numbers. And for enemy effects, holaholacocacola has Enemy Combat parameters, which is cool as heck. https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/57121 . I also believe hola is currently working on something adjacent to it.

2022-09-06 22:04:39 +0000 UTCHow hard would it be to add a timer for lesser powers? I can't believe nobody has done this

2022-09-06 21:50:54 +0000 UTCOr that super annoying issue where you can't jump over/on to an object if you're standing too close to it lol

2022-09-06 21:39:53 +0000 UTCYeah that's annoying...

2022-09-06 21:36:59 +0000 UTCid say option 2 or 3, but if you decide for 3 you should make an addition where ur character doesn’t slow down if you sheathe or equip a weapon while sprinting
