Rewards sent and some thoughts
Added 2018-09-02 20:13:43 +0000 UTCWhat's up, dudes!
I've finished sending the rewards to all the processed patrons! Thank you so much for your support! I'm very grateful to your kindness and your help! But, I feel a little ashamed that I didn't make a lot of arts for August... for Patreon, I mean.
I wasn’t very focus on arts as I thought I had planned for August. And I got two reasons for that:
First, I was working in my old company as a freelance graphic designer temporarily for two weeks. The reason for taking that job is that the company is starting to have problems with the Art department; a lot of graphic designers that I used to work with, even the ones that had worked in that company for a very long time than me, left the country! And there are only two graphic designers that are struggling with the work. So, I took that job to help them out till they find the replacement in the art department. You may be wondering why I was working with my old company, even that I quit last year, well, is because I have a good relationship with the company, despise of the problems we had with their client.
And second, and you guys already know this, I’m working with a big ad company called Ogilvy as a full-time graphic designer. But the working hours are from 9 to 6. And I get home really tired to work on my arts. I wouldn’t complain about it, now that I’m working with a big advertising company (which is one of my dreams since University), the people is so nice, the working place is so great and I’m learning a lot and new things (I’m starting to use After Effects, who would it know!). But, I really miss working as a freelance artist.
However, and talking about freelancing, the new reality that is living today in my country made me think a lot of things. If you’re watching the news in Venezuela, there’s a hug immigration of venezuelans leaving the country! Something that I have never seen before! And the reason of this new reality is that the economy is getting worse! And no matter what Nicolas Maduro does, that won’t solve the problems of Venezuela. With all that, I started to question my own freelance life, and wondering if this is really worth to keep working as a freelancer in this way. Not to mention that a lot of bad things had happened in my life economically. I think I made a post about it. I’m also starting to think leaving the country and move to the United States.
But anyway, let’s stop here and let’s talk about this month. Since Adventure Time is about to end tomorrow, I’m planning to take this September to draw a lot of fan arts of one of my favorite shows from Cartoon Network. Even that I’m sad that Adventure Time is going to an end, I’m so excited to see how will be the conclusion of this story.
I know a lot of you guys love my My Little Pony fan arts I made, but I also love doing fanarts of my other favorite shows. So please, don’t get mad if I draw something different.
Anyway, that’s all! I hope you guys enjoy your rewards and I see you next time!
Let’s make something awesome!
