Time to get a full-time job?

What’s up, dudes.

Alright, this may sound like a sad post, but, I’m stating the facts of what’s going on lately.

The thing is that, I’ve been thinking a lot about getting a full-time job as a graphic designer (for the fifth time), and perhaps I will stay working that way for a very long time. Don’t get me wrong! I still love making arts and making comics and love to work as a freelance artist. But, watching the situation that is happening in Venezuela right now, makes me think that I may not keep living as a freelance artist anymore (well, not in this situation).. I’m not so sure if I can keep up like this for a little longer. The economy in Venezuela is getting from worse to even-much-worse than before, more than the times of Chavez when he used to rule Venezuela. Maduro is destroying the economy with his crazy and impulsive decisions that affects negatively to my country. And the hyperinflation is getting too high every day! (the highest in Venezuela’s history).

I’m scared that something terrible is going to happen.

So, perhaps is time for me to get a full-time job, just in case that anything bad will happen. And I will work as an employee until this situation change for Venezuela once and for all. Of course, I will still making art even if I had a job. But, my schedule will be very tight, considering that transportation is getting scarce these weeks.

So, what do you think? If you were in my situation, should I hold up and stay working as a freelance artist? Or perhaps is time to throw the towel and start to get a job?

It's the safe bet, and probably the one you should take. You should look after yourself first, after all, if you don't, there won't be a you to keep on making art. If the passion is there, you'll find time do the art you love regardless of circumstance. So for now, I'd say get that job and best of luck to you in the future
