YAY! Patreon rolled back the changes
Added 2017-12-14 01:02:05 +0000 UTCWe win! After much complaining we are back to normal as usual!
Thank you everyone for sticking around with me even though you risked paying fees. You are the best!
I know they had to improve some issues that I agreed with and they still do. Hopefully they consult us next time before making "improvements"!
Now, back to writing my script...
Have fun!

patreon fee and apple bug are not my videos! Here I post stuff I like to communicate with my patrons, in addition to videos I make of course.

2017-12-16 23:36:22 +0000 UTCSo Mehdi, I've noticed the last few videos were YouTube monitization, Patreon Fee structure, Apple bug. Is this a new policy at electro boom?
2017-12-16 22:40:38 +0000 UTCI would always pay for this sort of content... it would have to get pretty extreme for me to stop. If the difference between getting the content or not is 35c a month I think I'd have bigger problems. I have a set amount I pledge each month to multiple creators...it's just mean fewer creators.
2017-12-15 09:12:52 +0000 UTCI cancelled all my patreon payments hoping I wasn't alone and they would change back. I mean, they basically went from giving like 90% down to 68% of small donations to creators but claimed it was more with bullshit math. I would have come back in about a week regardless, but that didn't take long at all for them to revert. They sent a link that made it easy to start them back up, which I have now.

2017-12-14 13:00:59 +0000 UTCI stopped my support on patron (unfortunately cancelling my subscription is the only sensible choice to make your point clear).. the proposed changes were not sensible at all.. I have a set amount I donate per month to multiple creators .. the one off payment per month is easy to manage. And for those who can only afforded to donate a little, a lot of little contributions adds up.. as for the fees passing them into the contributers is also a no-no,no one expects the service to be free but it should be up to the creators to judge whether the fees make the platform worth using. Anyway I'm glad it's sorted and hopefully they will consult they're users before any changes are made in future.
2017-12-14 11:37:38 +0000 UTCEven it seemed an awkward move by patreon when they announced the change, I still would have sticked to the channels I'm pledging to.

2017-12-14 10:49:20 +0000 UTCI did suggest to them to charge new patrons for the remaining portion of the first month and then continue charging first of the month. That becomes tricky if somebody pledges $1 for the remaining few hours of the month!
