MacBook is an amazing device. But I certainly do not have it, because it is very expensive. Competitors offer a cheaper price. A video - interesting, thanks, I'll know;) (β—•β€Ώβ—•)

Fix already out there, they admitted to screw up. Apple is quick i guess, like their pixies...

Could you do another YouTube monitization video, I like those?

Thanks for sharing. Fortunately, I don't use or manage Macs.

Some actual analysis as to the reason: <a href="https://objective-see.com/blog/blog_0x24.html" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">https://objective-see.com/blog/blog_0x24.html</a> tl;dr people aren't cheking function return values properly

why are you watching this shitty channel Mehdi?

Thats a really cool feature, I wonder how that happened. Is it because macs don't usually have a password set for root because it can't be used for login normally? How do you screw up a dialog so badly? And how does the privilege change work in macos? There is no password supplied, so something that is allready running with root privilege must give its thumbs up withot any checking at all. If I was a security researcher, I'd go looking for that :)

It is something new. The existence of other vulnerabilities (or the ability to open a system, get into storage and plant stuff there) is far different from clicking a button a few times while the system is running unattended. In one case, you need time and/or you're quite visible during the breach, in the other case it looks like you touched the computer for 3 seconds.

You can lock down your system against physical access, but it takes some work. For example the ones above will not work if you don't allow booting from a different medium and lock down the boot sequence. Encrypting your harddisk helps too.

Source for the above <a href="http://osxdaily.com/2011/04/25/change-admin-password-mac/" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">http://osxdaily.com/2011/04/25/change-admin-password-mac/</a> It's the same way for Linux and BSD. Windows goes like this <a href="https://www.howtogeek.com/howto/14369/change-or-reset-windows-password-from-a-ubuntu-live-cd/" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">https://www.howtogeek.com/howto/14369/change-or-reset-windows-password-from-a-ubuntu-live-cd/</a> With physical access it's very hard to secure a computer

There isn't really anything new here, other than Apple has made it easier than usual. Any system running Windows, Mac, Linux and BSD on laptops and server can be broken into in less than 10 minutes if there is physical access to the machine. So don't leave your machine with strangers, it might get lonely and broken into.

Ha, yeah the update changes it to 'NSAroot'...
