Whiskey Wednesday ~ Red, White & Blue Edition!
Added 2021-07-07 22:15:07 +0000 UTCIn honor of The 4th of July this last weekend and summer being in full swing, I thought it would be fun to have a Texas style BBQ themed Whiskey Wednesday. I have to admit that things got a little messy.
A very special friend gifted me Garrison Brothers Honey Dew Bourbon Whiskey and although I am not a big fan of flavored whiskeys, this bourbon was really fun to pair with BBQ. The sweetness of the whiskey, played off the spiciness of the BBQ and was perfect for a hot summer night. The BBQ is from Rollin' Smoke BBQ in Las Vegas.
This bourbon is made in Texas, aged four years in new American white oak casks and infused with Texas-local Burleson's wildflower honey oak cubes for seven months.

Tasting Notes by Flaviar:
Nose: It starts sweet with honey, elderberry syrup, fruit, and oak aromas on the nose with a dash of spice.
Palate: Honey sweetness, with cinnamon, butterscotch, corn, oak, and a touch of white chocolate.
Finish: A brief touch of heat is followed by a lingering honey note on the finish.
