Today's Whiskey Wednesday pick is from Alpine Distilling in Park City, Utah. It's a private stock Double-Oaked Bourbon Whiskey made for Total Wine & More. I thought this would be a good choice for this winter month and since skiing is on my mind, "Alpine" seemed especially apropos.
Total Wine describes it as โA complex and deep study of the role of wood on a premium Bourbon, this whiskey is aged in charred new oak then finished in new, toasted oak barrels. The finished spirit celebrates vanilla, butterscotch, and spices.โ
I enjoyed it very much, but it's strong (102 proof), so mind your manners. A girl could get in trouble with this one. It reminded me of a couple of High Westโs whiskeys, which is interesting since they are both out of Utah.
Cheers to a great night! ๐ฅ
