Poll: What format do you want to play in the future?

Hello everyone!

As 2024 will soon come to an end, we're looking at the future and we would like to know what are your expectations for us.

While we will continue to develop Silent Echo throughout the upcoming year and hopefully complete it, we would like to know what formats you would like to see us experiment with for future titles.

At this point, we have developed a fairly robust framework for HTML based games, but perhaps you would like us to experiment with developing more complex titles?

If there is an idea or a genre in particular you would like us to suggest, feel free to do so in the comments or on the discord server.

Let us know below!
Have fun!

I would also like to try a game that alternates between text parts and 3D parts.

Agreed. Unless you add like a lot of gameplay, HTML (and Twine specifically) is very good

i enjoy the more slow-paced storytelling of the HTML engine, along with other Visual-Novel-style engines such as Twine and Renpy as i like being able to hover on a scene or story-bit i enjoy without worrying as much about a timer running out or enemies swarming in the background. for adult games especially i dont like switching between focusing on a gameplay element and then enjoying an adult scene when my character "falls" to an enemy or something related ~ <3 but thats more of a personal preference than anything as there are other people who enjoy faster paced 2d and 3d adult games <3 i dont actually have a lot of face-time with the Godot Engine, the only adult game ive played that used it was a VN-style game with embedded minigames. and i didnt even know it had the capability to do 2D sidescrolling until now! though i also have run into a Unreal Engine visual novel style game, and Unity Engine games doing much the same as VN, sidescrolling, and 3d sandbox-style, so there are a LOT of engine capabilities i dont know of yet <3

Accessibility is 100% one of the perks of being HTML based, so I personally wouldn't develop on any other format than that for something heavily text-based.

You can also ask if they would want text based games in other engines, or add a bit more gameplay to text-based games? Aditionally, do people like HTML due to their accessibility (being able to play on the phone and any computer), or because of their structure (text base games)
