Devour Vol 2 Ch 8: A Sisters Worries, The One Who Would End The Conflict!
Added 2025-03-07 15:48:23 +0000 UTCI locked eyes with my sister, crimson fire burning in her gaze. But just as I readied myself, something—no, someone—caught my attention. I turned my head, my sharp blue eyes shifting away from my opponent for just a second.
That's when I saw him.

There, standing on the dark flesh of her nipple, was the tiny figure of the human. Conrad.
My stomach twisted. What is he doing there?
The Void was no place for creatures as fragile as him, yet there he stood, impossibly small, standing atop of big sisters body. I could tell she was shielding him in some way—otherwise, he would have been reduced to cosmic dust by now—but it didn't make me feel any better.
Because she—Darkness—was playful. Too playful. And our kind didn't keep things around for long.
"Hey! Where are you looking?"

I barely had time to react before Crimson's fist rocketed toward me.
I snapped my arms up just in time, bracing against the blow. The moment her knuckles connected, a shockwave of raw power detonated between us—gold slamming against crimson, the forces colliding and rippling outward, twisting the very fabric of the Void.
My arms shook as I held my ground. "Damn you!" I growled, retaliating with my own punch.
She caught it. Smirking.
Her grip was iron. My golden aura flared, trying to push against hers, but she barely seemed fazed.
"All this concern for a mortal like that?" she taunted, her voice dripping with amusement. "All this rage for a tiny little planet filled with such delicious energy?" She laughed, throwing my fist away with little effort.
I clenched my jaw. "They're mine." My voice came out firm, unwavering.

Crimson tilted her head, her smirk widening. "Oh? Then why haven't you devoured them yet?" she asked, spreading her arms as if gesturing to the wretched planet below. "It's so small. It would be effortless."
I said nothing. My fingers curled into fists, but I refused to give her an answer.
She noticed. She always noticed.
"None of your business," I muttered.
Crimson scoffed. "None of my business?"
I lunged, fist raised, golden energy crackling around me.
She met me head-on.
Our bodies collided with a deafening explosion of power, golden light and crimson flames bursting outward, swallowing everything in a brilliant, chaotic display.
She grabbed my arm, stopping me cold. My energy sparked wildly against hers, but her smirk only deepened. "Of course it's our business," she whispered, her breath warm against my skin. Her eyes, filled with cruel delight, bore into mine. "Did you really think we wouldn't know?"

A sharp pang shot through my chest.
I stiffened.
She leaned closer, her voice a dark purr.
"You haven't been eating as much as you should be, little sister."
The way she said my name—"Gala"—sent a shiver down my spine.
I pushed away from her, floating back, suddenly motionless.
She knew.

I couldn't count how many times I had to shield my eyes from the explosions of light. Every time their fists clashed, a new sun seemed to be born in the empty void around us. Golden and crimson energy collided, bursting out in massive ripples that shook everything—the air, the space itself. The sheer force of it rattled through my bones, even as I stood far, far away on something that shouldn't have been solid ground.

I swallowed hard and turned my gaze back toward Earth.
Or what was left of it.
Thick, angry clouds blanketed the planet, swirling violently over dark waters. Red streaks, like open wounds, ran across the surface, cutting through landmasses I barely recognized. Even from here, I could tell—whatever was happening down there, it was bad.
A deep rumbling beneath my feet made my breath hitch.
I turned sharply, my stomach twisting as I realized—oh, right. I wasn't standing on solid ground at all. I was standing on her.
Slowly, hesitantly, I tilted my head back, my heart hammering against my ribs.
She was staring right at me.
The black-haired titan's massive face loomed above, her dark, abyss-like eyes locking onto me with unnerving amusement. Her lips curled into a smirk—one that sent a fresh wave of unease crawling up my spine.
"Ahh," she purred, her voice rolling through the void like thunder. "You're just adorable."
I felt my heart skip a beat.
A joke. That had to be a joke.
"You're so small," she mused, tilting her head. "So... fragile." Her smirk widened, her gaze gleaming with something I couldn't place. "I could just eat you up."
I stiffened. "Please tell me you're joking."
She let out a soft, rumbling laugh. "Mmm... maybe."
Not reassuring. Not reassuring at all.
She turned her gaze from me, her attention shifting toward the ruined planet below. "You're worried about your little home, aren't you?"
I swallowed. Of course I was. How could I not be?
She let out a pleased hum. "Let me paint you a picture, then."
And just like that, she began to describe it.
"Tsunamis taller than mountains," she said, her voice almost... dreamy. "Waves that crash over entire cities, dragging buildings and people alike into the depths."
My fists clenched.
"Earthquakes that split the ground apart," she continued, dragging her fingers along her cheek as if lost in thought. "Giant, gaping chasms that swallow towns whole. So many lives, just gone."
I could barely breathe.
"And the winds," she sighed. "Winds strong enough to peel the skin from your bones."
She let out a soft, almost loving sigh.
"How marvelous."
I felt sick.
My gaze snapped back to the battle ahead—the two titans still locked in combat, their power shaking the universe itself. And all I could think about was what the black-haired woman had just described.
The planet—my planet—was breaking apart. People were dying.
I gritted my teeth.
"We have to stop them!" I shouted.
The titan beneath me chuckled, her smirk widening.
"Oh?" She purred. "Now this should be interesting."
The ground beneath me rumbled like a living thing, shifting and trembling under forces I couldn't begin to comprehend. I barely had time to react before a shadow fell over me—massive, all-consuming. I craned my neck upward, my breath catching in my throat as I saw her move.
Her finger approached.
It wasn't just a digit; it was an unfathomable landmass of flesh and ridges, a continent moving with impossible grace and purpose. The closer it came, the more its features revealed themselves—deep canyons running like ancient riverbeds across its surface, grooves so immense I could've fit entire skyscrapers inside them. The ridges along her knuckles jutted out like rolling mountain ranges, and the subtle creases in her skin looked like valleys carved by time itself.
The sheer scale of it was incomprehensible. I was nothing against it, a speck of dust on the wind, a single grain of sand compared to the endless expanse of her flesh. The air around me thrummed with an invisible force, like static before a lightning strike, and then—darkness.
A thick, swirling energy bled from her skin, dark as the void itself. It moved unnaturally, tendrils of shadow wrapping around me, pulling me upward without effort. It wasn't like being lifted—it was like being claimed, like the universe itself had decided I no longer belonged where I stood. My body went rigid, my breath stolen from me as the force dragged me skyward, higher and higher, until the world I had been standing on was nothing but a distant memory.
And then—I was face to face with her.
Her eye was so close I couldn't recognize it at first. It wasn't just an eye—it was an ocean of blackness, a swirling abyss of dark beauty that swallowed everything around it. I could see my reflection in its surface, a pathetic, trembling thing caught in the gaze of something far beyond my understanding. Every twitch of her pupil sent ripples through the infinite darkness, like an unseen force was shifting inside, waiting, watching.
"You want to stop them?" Her voice rumbled around me, the playfulness in her tone making my stomach twist into knots. I tried to speak, to answer, but no words came. I was locked in place, pinned by her sheer presence.
"Then go and stop them."

There was no time to react. She lifted a single finger—just a simple, lazy motion—and the world exploded around me.
The force struck me like a hurricane made of darkness, sending me careening through the void. My body twisted and flailed uncontrollably, weightless and helpless against the overwhelming velocity. The pressure was unbearable—tears were ripped from my eyes, saliva flung from my mouth as I was hurled through the vast emptiness at speeds I couldn't begin to comprehend. The universe around me blurred, stars stretching into long streaks of light as I was sent hurtling toward the heart of destruction.
The battle between the titans was no longer a distant spectacle—it was a looming catastrophe, a wall of golden and crimson energy colliding in a dance of devastation. Their strikes sent ripples through space, explosions of raw power detonating in flashes brighter than the sun. The very fabric of reality seemed to bend and ripple with each blow, their movements tearing through existence itself.
And I was flying straight into the middle of it.
The pressure mounted as I got closer, my lungs burning as if the very air around me was resisting my presence. The gravitational forces of these monsters alone should've been enough to crush me, yet I was still alive, still moving—likely only because of the black-haired titan's lingering energy, protecting me just enough to ensure I would reach my destination.
Then—impact.
Not with flesh, not with energy, but with a force I couldn't comprehend. A presence, a weight in the air as two unimaginable beings suddenly noticed me.
Time seemed to freeze.
The golden-haired titan, her aura blazing like the heart of a dying star, turned her head slightly, her piercing blue eyes widening as she registered the microscopic thing hurtling toward them.
"Conrad?!"
Her voice was a mixture of shock and disbelief, echoing across the void like a thunderclap. Even in the chaos of battle, even amidst the destruction that surrounded us, I had managed to capture her attention.
For the first time since this nightmare began, I wasn't just an observer.
I was a part of it.
And now, there was no turning back.
