GTS Summoner Ch 6: The Growing Calamity!
Added 2025-02-16 21:09:18 +0000 UTCThe world was beneath me, and it was mine to destroy.
The sword in my grip hummed, its weight as familiar as my own flesh. The air still crackled with the remnants of the golden light I had unleashed. Smoke curled from the ruins of what had once been a city, rising toward the sky in thick black pillars. The earth, torn asunder by my power, lay in deep trenches and shattered streets.
This was my purpose. This was why I had been created.

And yet...
I exhaled slowly, my crimson gaze sweeping across the destruction. Was it supposed to be this easy? These little creatures—they scattered like frightened insects, running in circles, crying out, their faces twisted in terror. They offered no challenge, no resistance worthy of my strength.
"So pathetic," I muttered, curling my fingers tighter around my sword.
Below me, the tiny humans scrambled between my feet, their footsteps barely noticeable against my skin. I lifted my sword again, the steel gleaming in the dim, dust-choked sunlight. With a single swing, I cleaved through a cluster of remaining buildings. The structures collapsed like sandcastles before the tide, debris exploding outward in great plumes of dust and shattered stone. The sheer force of my strike sent powerful gusts of wind outward, hurling bodies into the air like dried leaves caught in a storm.
One of them—a tiny, flailing man—soared toward me.
I tilted my head, watching his trajectory with mild curiosity. His screams grew louder, more frantic, before—thump!—he smacked against the metal plating of my chest.
For a moment, I was still. Then, with slow amusement, I reached up and plucked him from my armor between two fingers. He was so small, barely the size of a pebble, trembling violently in my grip. I could feel his tiny heartbeat racing against my skin.
"Look at you," I mused, holding him closer to my face. "So weak, so fragile. You think your kind was ever meant to stand against me?"
He whimpered, his mouth moving soundlessly, tears streaking down his dirt-smeared face.
Pathetic.

With a smirk, I parted my lips and pushed him past my teeth, rolling him onto my tongue. He squirmed—oh, how he squirmed—thrashing weakly against the warm, slick surface.
I closed my mouth, savoring the taste of his terror. Then, with a satisfied hum, I swallowed.
And that's when it happened.
A sudden pulse shot through my veins, a deep, intoxicating warmth spreading through every fiber of my being. I gasped, my fingers twitching as my body tingled with newfound energy. The sensation coiled deep in my core, burning hotter, stronger, until—
"Ahh..." I exhaled sharply, my back arching as the feeling intensified.
It was happening again.
My skin glowed, a faint golden hue illuminating the spaces between my armor. My body trembled, my limbs tingling with a delicious pressure that built and built until—
I expanded.
The city around me seemed to shrink, the ground pulling away as my body stretched taller, my form pulsing with growth. My armor strained, the metal groaning as my limbs lengthened, my curves filling out with divine power.
500 feet...
800 feet...
1000 feet...

I moaned, tilting my head back as the rush of size flooded through me. The rooftops of the tallest buildings barely reached my waist now. The humans below were as insignificant as ants, their screams no louder than whispers against my ears.
I flexed my fingers, watching the way my hands looked different now—bigger, more powerful. My boots, already immense, crushed deeper into the earth, flattening streets, grinding cars and bodies alike into dust.
This... this was what I was meant for.
I inhaled deeply, reveling in the scent of destruction. Soon, my purpose would be fulfilled. Soon, humanity itself would be wiped from existence.
But then—
Something flickered at the edge of my vision.
I frowned, my breath still heavy from the pleasure of growth. Far below, amidst the rubble, a faint glow pulsed—a soft, radiant light that stood out starkly against the smoke and ruin.
I narrowed my eyes, focusing.
"What is that?" I murmured, stepping closer.

The very ground quaked beneath my movement, sending fresh tremors through the already shattered landscape. The glowing light pulsed again, rhythmic, alive, beckoning me forward.
Curiosity stirred in my chest.
For the first time since my awakening, something other than destruction caught my interest.
