Titan Rumble Ch 9: Alpha Vs Omega!

(Third Person)

A massive explosion tore through the Mindscape, shaking the very ground beneath their feet. Dust and dirt shot into the air in a blinding wave, and a deafening boom echoed across the field. The earth cracked beneath Yuna's devastating punch, creating a crater that looked like a meteor had just slammed into the battlefield.

High above, Cain shot through the air, propelled by the shockwave from the impact. His heart pounded in his chest as he looked down at the chaos below. Through the thick, swirling clouds of dust, he could barely make out Yuna, her form shadowy and looming.

"Dammit," Cain muttered under his breath. His mouth felt dry, and his hands clenched into fists. The sheer power Yuna was displaying sent a cold chill down his spine. He hated to admit it, but he was genuinely scared.

Even in this Mindscape, where their sizes and abilities were supposedly "leveled," Alphas were still Alphas. They retained their absurd strength, terrifying durability, and, most annoyingly, that unshakable confidence.

"This is a losing battle," Cain said to himself as he came back down to the ground, landing in a crouch. His legs tensed as he scanned the dust for any sign of Yuna.

He didn't have to wait long.

Yuna was a blur as she charged forward, her fist cocked back and ready to strike. Cain's instincts screamed at him to move, and he lunged to the right just as her punch flew past him. Her fist hit nothing but air—and yet the force of it was enough to send a wild gust of wind ripping through the field, flattening grass and sending loose rocks flying.

Cain stumbled as the wind tore at him, his heart racing. "She's not even trying to hit me," he thought, glancing back at the smirking Alpha as she casually rolled her shoulders.

"You can't run forever, Cain!" Yuna called out, her voice dripping with amusement.

Cain gritted his teeth. She was right. Every time he dodged, she got faster, her punches coming closer and closer. It was only a matter of time before one of them connected—and if that happened, he wouldn't be walking away from it.

"I have no choice," Cain muttered, just as another shockwave of wind slammed into his back. He lost his footing and hit the ground hard, rolling a few feet before coming to a stop.

Before he could even think about getting up, Yuna was on him. Her hand shot out and grabbed him by the neck, hoisting him into the air like a ragdoll. Her grip was firm, but not enough to choke him—just enough to remind him of her overwhelming strength.

"I've got you now," Yuna said, her voice low and triumphant. Her fiery eyes locked onto his, and for a moment, Cain felt like a bug caught under a magnifying glass.

She tilted her head slightly, as if contemplating something, before speaking again. "You know," she said, her tone almost thoughtful, "I've always admired Betas."

Cain blinked at her, caught off guard. "...What?"

"Seriously," she continued, her voice softer now. "You guys are so small, so fragile, and yet you survive. That's kind of incredible, isn't it?"

Cain didn't respond, too busy wondering where she was going with this.

"But," Yuna said, her grip tightening slightly, "did you really think this fight would end any other way? Did you honestly believe you could beat me again?"

Cain's silence seemed to irritate her, and a flash of anger crossed her face. She frowned, then dropped him unceremoniously onto the ground. Cain barely had time to register the fall before her fist slammed into his stomach, driving the air from his lungs and sending him crashing into the dirt.

The impact created another small explosion of power and wind, and a cloud of dust rose into the air around them. Cain lay there for a moment, staring up at the sky, his body screaming in protest.

Yuna stood over him, her hands on her hips. "Someone like you could never beat me," she said, her voice firm and unyielding. "Never again."

For a long moment, Cain didn't move. Then, slowly, he began to smirk.

"What's so funny?" Yuna demanded, narrowing her eyes.

Cain didn't answer right away. Instead, he rolled onto his side, then pushed himself to his feet with a groan. Dusting himself off, he looked up at Yuna, his smirk growing wider.

"Are you sure?" he asked, his tone almost playful.

Yuna froze. Something about the way he said that sent a chill down her spine. She whipped around, her heart racing as she heard his voice again—this time, much closer.

"Over here," Cain said casually, standing just a few feet away, completely unharmed. His arms were crossed, and he was smiling at her like he hadn't just been slammed into the dirt moments ago.

"What is this?" Yuna asked, her voice tinged with both confusion and frustration.

Cain's smirk turned into a full grin. "This," he said, cracking his knuckles, "is round two.
