Psylocke Vol 2 Ch 8: The Five Members Of Psylocke.

The scene in front of me was almost too much to handle. Imagine being surrounded by giants so massive, I couldn't even see them in full. Each small movement they made stirred up strong gusts of wind, threatening to knock me over, and their voices roared like thunder, so loud it felt like my ears were going to burst. None of this was pleasant.

Now, all these towering figures were looking at me with curiosity, leaning in closer and closer until they stopped feeling like people at all. They became more like monsters—monsters that could squash me without even trying. My instinct kicked in, and I grabbed onto one of Grace's fingers, hoping it would shield me, though deep down I knew it wouldn't.

"Girls, I'm going to need you all to step back," Darcy's booming voice echoed from above.

Instantly, the giant, terrifying faces shifted their attention upwards, away from me, and focused on Darcy.

"You're scaring our guest," she added.

The giants finally started to back off, their thunderous footsteps shaking the ground beneath me. Slowly, I could breathe again as what had been monsters looming over me turned back into people.

"Better?" Grace asked, gently rubbing my back with her finger.

"Uh, yeah," I muttered, wiping sweat from my brow. "I'm better."

"Don't worry," Darcy said with a chuckle. "You'll get used to it."

I almost didn't believe it, but there was a hint of sympathy in Darcy's voice. I wanted to break down right then and there.

"Sorry, Tristan," she continued, laughing softly. "The girls can get a little carried away. Let me introduce them."

I didn't say anything—honestly, I was still trying to get my nerves under control. All I could do was nod, not realizing that Darcy probably couldn't see it from where she was.

"From right to left," Darcy began, "we first have Zuri Brooks."

One of the women stepped forward. She looked younger than the others, with brown skin and short black braids. Her colorful top exposed her midriff, and tan shorts showed off her toned legs. She wore flip-flops and had a wide, excited smile on her face.

She seemed like the outgoing type, which made me a little nervous.

"Nice to meet ya," she said, full of energy.

I tried to smile back, but I doubted she could even see me.

"Next up, we have Kayla Bennett," Darcy continued.

Another woman stepped forward, more composed than Zuri but still giving off a playful vibe. She had short black hair with the tips dyed blue, a sleeveless black top, and baggy pants with black boots. Her arms were crossed, and there was a small smile playing on her lips.

"What's up," she said casually.

This one... I wasn't sure about yet. But I could tell she had a more laid-back attitude compared to Zuri.

"Then we have Naomi Reed," Darcy announced.

The third woman stepped forward, and immediately, I felt something different about her. There was an air of elegance around her, unlike the others. She didn't smile; instead, her eyes were cold and distant. Her long blonde hair, almost white, was tied back in a ponytail, and she held a brown-covered book in her arms. She wore a black dress that revealed only one leg through a slit on the side.

"Hello," Naomi said softly, her voice low and calm.

For some reason, despite her coldness, she made me feel more at ease than the others. Maybe it was the calmness in her voice, or the fact that she wasn't as overwhelming as Zuri or Kayla. I didn't know why, but Naomi's presence was oddly comforting.

"And then we have Jada Gray," Darcy spoke again.

The next woman stepped forward, and I felt my nerves spike again. Jada had long black hair and wore a buttoned-up, military-style jacket with a matching black skirt. Her face was set in a scowl, and she looked irritated, like everything around her was a waste of time. She was built—strong, muscular, like she spent most of her days in the gym. If she were my size, I had no doubt she could take me down without breaking a sweat.

Which, considering my current size, wasn't exactly difficult. But still. It was intimidating.

"And finally, we have Serena Turner," Darcy said.

The last woman stepped forward, and suddenly, Grace's fingers curled tighter around me, partially blocking my view. Confused, I glanced up at her, and what I saw froze me to my core. Grace was staring at Serena with an intensity I'd never seen before. Her eyes were filled with anger, her jaw clenched tight, teeth grinding together.

I looked back at Serena, trying to understand what had triggered such a strong reaction from Grace. Serena seemed... perfectly normal. In fact, she looked more mature and composed than any of the others. Her long black hair was pinned to the side with a purple bow, and she had a calm, serene expression. Her eyes were steady, patient, giving off a sense of quiet confidence.

I couldn't figure out why Grace was reacting like this. She hadn't even looked at Darcy with that much hostility, and Darcy was known to be a handful.

"How do you do," Serena said softly, stepping forward and giving me a slight, graceful bow.

"This is our little team," Darcy said with a smug grin as she raised her hand, lifting us until we were level with her face. Her eyes sparkled with mischief as she watched me closely. "What do you think?"

I looked around at the five towering figures, each one unique, each one with the power to crush me without even realizing it. My heart pounded in my chest. I wasn't sure how to respond without sounding like I was scared out of my mind, which, let's be real, I was.

"Um..." I stammered, trying to keep my voice steady. "They... seem nice?"

Darcy let out a low chuckle, her warm breath washing over me like a gust of wind. "Nice, huh?" she said, amused. "Well, they can be... sometimes."

I glanced at the girls below us. They were all staring up at me like I was some kind of novelty. I had no idea what any of them were thinking, but I didn't get the sense that they were "nice" in the way I'd hoped. Especially with Grace still glaring daggers at Serena. Something about that tension made me feel like I was standing on a time bomb.

Darcy, clearly entertained by my discomfort, shifted her focus back to the girls. "Alright, ladies, go get ready. We'll be inside soon."

Without another word, the group dispersed, their footsteps like distant earthquakes as they moved away, leaving only Grace, Breonia, and me on Darcy's hand. I exhaled, my whole body finally relaxing now that those enormous eyes weren't all locked onto me.

Grace's fingers loosened, allowing me to sit more comfortably in her palm. She still hadn't said anything about Serena, but I could tell something was seriously wrong.

"Well then shall we go inside, it's almost time for dinner." Darcy said with a smile.
