Tinier Furry In A Huger World - What's Coming Next Update

First up - thank you to everyone for the kind words on Tiny Furry In A Huge World v1.2!
Sorry that this post come a bit later than anticipated. It actually took a while to draft. Deciding what I can reasonably do in two weeks rather than what I want to do in two weeks is ... well, difficult! Plus, laying it all out in a way that isn't a big long ramble, and all that ...
Anyway!
Over the next two weeks, I will be revamping the prologue considerably. There's a few reasons for this.
First of all - and, perhaps, most importantly - Wilson just got a whole new family member, and ... that kind of needs to be accounted for. I don't just want her to feel tacked on - or, worse, completely hidden in the kitchen and never spoken about until you get eaten by her - so she will be getting added to the introduction in the form of a new area.
You will also be able to get to talk to Wilson about her (and Hart, if she's there) because I have found a really good way to make variable dialogue options without making the backend of the game a complete clusterfuck. This leads me onto the second reason why I need to overhaul the intro ...
While I was working on Tiny Furry, I was brushing up on what can and can't be done in Quest. I mean ... really brushing up on it. It turns out that I can do a lot of things that I thought couldn't be done - without making spaghetti, at least - with a few cheeky functions that I just wasn't aware of before.
To make development less of a headache, then, it has become apparent to me that the backend of the game in the prologue (particularly the conversation branches) are going to need to be ripped out - entirely - and recoded. This is going to eat up a fair bit of development time - most of the next two weeks is going to be dedicated to it, as a matter of fact - but the good news is that by spending the time to do this now, I am saving myself a headache - or maybe even an aneurysm - later! It will make development of the game much, much smoother going forward.
I had initially planned to do this after the micro tavern segment was completed, but ... since I'm going back to add Wilson's sister anyway, it just makes infinitely more sense to do it now. It'll lead to a better experience with Wilson's sister in the end, promise!
While I am ripping out the backend of the game, though, I will be adding new conversation opportunities/dialogue branches to the game at the same time.
For example ... want to show Wilson ... or anyone else ... the shrunken elf? Then you'll be able to! Met Jamie in the town square, and actually want to talk about him to Wilson or Hart - or future characters? Hear a weird rumble from the sewers, and you want to ask Reiko or Wilson about that? You'll be able to! This is why I am doing a whole lot of recoding in the first place. The game has a lot of choices in it - a lot of variables - and by recoding everything, I will be able to account for this better.
I will also be adding a new dream sequences prior to you getting shrunk. This will be an oral vore dream featuring Wilson's sister.
Also! Potential Kyobonus. I can't make any promises, because this is a lot of work already, but ... since it has become clear that there is, indeed, a demand for disposal content, I will do my best to add at least one disposal route for one of the current vore endings in the game this update.
So, in short, here is what is getting added:
- Wilson's sister is getting added to the prologue
- Prologue is getting recoded for a smoother experience and to allow for more variable interaction
- New dialogue branches and new lore
- Vore dream
- maybe a disposal thing
The update will be coming in two weeks or so. July 5th is my date, but I may end up postponing it for a day if pulling all the code and writing together ends up being more difficult than anticipated. There will be many things to bug test and proof read and etc etc. It will be worth it! I promise!
WHAT ABOUT THE FUCKING BARD?
I haven't forgotten about the bard! The birdy bard's framework will be getting added this update so that I can add him easier later on, but he will not be implemented for now. Why? I have to prioritize the tavern owner's family member in this case, really. To put it simply - the bard very much is bonus bird content - whereas Wilson's sister is ... Wilson's sister. It's the family member of a central character.
I am slating to add the bard in when v0.1 is looking close to said and done. This is a few updates off yet. I will keep you posted, as always!
