A Tinier Furry In A Huger World - Scenario Poll
Added 2020-12-19 06:29:50 +0000 UTCHello everyone!
The previous two polls will be closed shortly. Thank you for participating in them! Fantasy wins the first poll, and fortnightly updates wins the second. I'm very much looking forward to using that extra time to make a better and more fleshed out game for everyone. I really appreciate everyone's support and patience. It actually kind of blew me away ... I expected that kind of thing to be much more divisive, but ... well. I am very happy with the community that has formed around me, let me say that much. I really feel like I can't do enough for you all.
Anyway! Onto the poll stuff. Sorry about that.
One thing that I have been thinking about for this game is the ability to play a prologue of sorts before you get shrunk and thrust into the micro world. This prologue would effectively allow you to explore the town before you become shrunk in it. Not only would this allow you to build relationships with characters that may either benefit you or backfire later.
Since this is going to be a fantasy game, we can also include possible predator opportunities and such as well. Wanna vore tiny people instead of getting vored? This is now a perfectly viable option ... though the focus would still be on the you as micro content, of course.
How this would work in the update structure is that each area would be built up from a macro perspective and a micro perspective. So, for example, just to use some rough examples -
v0.1 would feature the first area/character from a macro perspective, the shrinking sequence, and then the exploration of said area from a shrunk perspective. This would effectively be the beginning of the game, and feature our polled giant/giantess (and maybe some minor NPCs/potential future characters because why not)
v0.2 would add a second area to this shrunk perspective - another building in town, or something like that - and it would also add the macro perspective at the same time, allowing you to interact with the character in that area before you get shrunk.
So essentially, this 'prologue' would be built at the same time as the micro stuff, meaning that you wouldn't get huge swathes of macro content week after week, but you would get macro content that would add flavor to the micro experience.
Naturally, if you don't want to interact with the town from a macro perspective, then you can just go ahead and get yourself shrunk right off the bat if you want. This would mean that you'd be a stranger to these characters when you interact with them as shrunk, and that would be fine. But if you had talked to them earlier, then naturally the content is a little different.
This would lead to the macros in the game feeling a little less static. If you want a gentler macro, then you can go in and try to be friendly to them in the prologue, which may lead to them treating you a little better lately. Alternatively, you can go in and be an asshole, which would effect your standing with them and ultimately lead to them being a bit dickish with you if you happen to bump into them. If you want a surprise, then ... well, just skip the prologue!
Alternatively, we can just get straight into the shrinking action, which would effectively leave everything as a blank slate. I am happy doing things either way - but this was a thought that popped into my mind that I figured might make for a cool poll!
Tomorrow, I will post the first species poll, and Preview 6 for A Tiny Furry will be out on Sunday!
Happy voting!
