I really like this episode of Dewey wanting to be the best adventurer for his mom and Della's line of that he doesn't ever have to prove anything to her is so sweet. She's definitely learning and im glad that she is because I want her to become a good mom who knows how to be a parent. Great reaction!

4:53, "Hello. Woo-oo 2x 🤣🤣🤣. Mom, I always have to sing the intro! It's the best part! ..... 5:42: but I didn't even know she killed it. I didn't want her to kill it! I wanted to save the poor f*cking mouse! It was infront of Aspen's water bowl this morning. I would've laughed if she dropped it in there🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣. It drowned! It drowned🤣🤣! She's staging the crime scene🤣🤣🤣" that little deviant of a cat😂😈👏🏼 9:38, "Okay! I understand this reference!! I watched A Goofy Movie, uh, a month ago, for the first time! I understand this reference. I hope you're all proud of me." Well I am!! Congrats😁 11:28, "I will say, she's a very carefree mom." True. "But, like, girl. You gotta have some boundaries man, you know? You're gonna get you and your kid killed, you know like? I admire your adventurous spirit... but there's a line... and you're crossing it." Also true. Yeah, Della is just trying to figure out what type of mom she's gonna be. She doesn't automatically KNOW how to be a mom. She wants to keep her boys safe, but she also wants to encourage them. It's a really difficult rope to walk on. If she slips, hopefully she'll learn from it, and do better next time 21:25, "The seeds are gonna fall into that liquid and they're all gonna sprout and it's gonna ruin everything." Man, you predicted it correctly Morgan. Bravo👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 Last edit: That was really funny to watch. You're getting closer to my top 3 favorite episodes of this season😁. Not gonna say which ones just yet, but you're gonna be REALLY happy😁😁. See ya Morgan. Bye👋🏼

Della is a complex and nuanced character, so complicated feelings are the correct ones to have about her. Della and Dewey are both driving each other to make bad decisions here because they're both desperate for the other's approval. Dewey already takes a fairly reckless approach to adventuring, and he's built up a whole idealized version of Della over ten years of knowing nothing about her and then the Spear of Selene investigation. He's afraid Della will be disappointed if he fails to live up to her legacy of daring adventure, so he's not going to refuse anything she suggests and he feels he has to get his own crazy ideas in there to impress her. Della, meanwhile, has a rather skewed view of what constitutes a reasonable level of risk to involve her kids in, since she herself grew up going on adventures with Scrooge, she's spent the last decade completely cut off from society in an environment where merely existing means constant mortal peril, all she knows about her kids' own adventuring skills and experience is that they have SOME, but she doesn't know how much, and she's suddenly showing up in their lives after a decade-long absence that was, ultimately, her own fault. She's already afraid they'll resent her for that, and she's afraid of giving them more reason by suddenly restricting their adventures. Both of them are already not great at assessing risk, and they're also both afraid the other will be disappointed or worse if they DO suggest restraint and caution.

I like how the show wasn't afraid to split up the ensemble and focus in on just 2 or 3 characters for an episode.
